i dont think we're the market for it. I think when you look at it next to say wii sports then it compares quite well.

This is a game that when demo'd always shows the lag with kinect though.

these arent for the hardcore i know a dozen kids that have said they want kinect for these kind of goofy games, the dancing game looks like a good family game for even tweens... but for the hardcore we will have to wait for the hybrid games that MS promised in 12-18 months... (pad+kinect at same time) like lean support in fps's and other goodies that i would love to have

And even if you could, why would you? Everybody who likes these kind of games and want motioncontrolled games already bought a Wii 4 years ago. MS is trying to invade a market owned by Nintendo.

Everything is owned by Nintendo for the most part when you stand back. Handheld, motion control, soon 3d gaming (3DS), and even consoles regardless of the fact they have the casual market helping this.

Because we have seen tech demos of all these alleged Hardcore games? Please can we have just one tech demo proving that it can do real games Microsoft? Stop kidding yourself, it would have been easier to create a real game with Kinect functionality than go out of your way to create weird gimmicky crap. Example, a racing game were you stand up to play, the car moves at its own speed and to steer you have to exaggerate all movement to the left and right? Its more complicated then if the controls were like a real car lol.
The newest specimen is the Harry Potter game. Here I thought, "oh lets see what this is like", and then after a quick observation I said "oh the characters run and do their own thing and you just frantically frail your arms around to do stuff". Another game that doesn't play like a game, just a two minute gimmick. Come on admit it, you know I'm right.

Nope that is Kinect Sports. But Rare is a huge studio within MS Gamestudios. Something tells me they are working on some other stuff, but I doubt it is for this generation of consoles. Seeing how long their development cycle is. It could very well be for the next as launch titles. Rare always has been secretive, and you can trust them in keeping secrets, even if they are just aims of what the next console will be in proccessing power and capabilities. (As at this stage, it would be known what it can do or what the aim is, but most of the hardware has not been decided on yet).

I just played about 3 minutes of the Rafting game with my wife at the state fair. There were some pretty long waits in line, so it seems there is a bit of interest in the device. I really wish I had more time to try it out, as my brief time was pretty fun, even if my wife and I couldn't get in sync with each other till the very end. There is definitely something different about the experience. I think I will enjoy it a lot when I buy it later.

As far as just "flailing arms", I didn't feel that way- the movements you make aren't random. It was strangely cool just to have my avatar guy do the Roller Coaster "arms up" when I did it. It may be gimmicky, but it was really fun to have the game character doing the same thing I was, lol...
