As we are preparing to head back to France here is one last video until tonight where Driftwood proves us that he actually can drive under the worst circumstances: Heavy rain in Monza on F1 2010.
I'm still a bit sad that there won't be any safety cars or installation laps, but aside from Hot Pursuit this is becoming my number one racing game of the year. I found Split/Second and Blur to be very annoying, TDU 2 has been moved to next year, so all the more time I can play F1.
Hey Driftwood, what were the settings when you played that lap ? I doubt anyone would turn off the ABS in that pouring rain LOL
The effects when you're behind a car(raining) were very cool, I don't recall seeing them before, looks like Codemasters perfected it a little bit as they got closer to launch. Cool vid Gamersyde ;)

I must say I did not have time to check that out, we only had an hour this morning to get the last footage of this year's Gamescom. More videos (F1 2010 and more) will come this weekend. :)
As bad as Codemasters are at physics, they always manage to get that "feeling" of racing. I hated everything about Dirt 2, but damn if it didn't kind of feel like you were actually rallying. Stuff like this is what serious console sims like Forza and GT have to improve on in the future; the immersion.
That's not the purpose either. Codemasters are not in the game of making realistic sims. They take a sport and distill it down to get the important bits and make it accessible. They want it to look like as close to real F1 as possible, but let you be as good as Senna. After having played Dirt 2, I kind of see their point.
