GSY Video Xbox One

Here we are back from Microsoft's press conference and demos, so let's start with this rather great gameplay of Quantum Break from the press conference. Nothing new of course, but you'll probably notice that the game is much smoother there than what the stream did show, if though the game isn't perfect in terms of FPS.

I really like the way they've visualised what are quite usual time minipulation powers. Looks lovely. wonder if the delay was so they could celebritize the game?

That was my thinking too. I think that's probably part of the reason yes but I think they really needed more time.

I hope some direct feed gameplay of this hits soon, this will have to do for now. Well after seeing the gameplay video, there are quite a few visual effects going on, much like the videos before. all of the effects are super smooth too. I wonder who the last character is going to be next.

Well, this game looks like it will be a no-brainer must have. The effects are insane. Seems to be pretty polished already. Only concern is the story which I haven't hear much about.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. It's probably some kind of animated real time filter layered over the top. The animation team working on this must have been flat out, because some of the time lapse stuff hurts me just watching it thinking about just how much work went into doing it.

I also think I preferred the original actor. There's something about Iceman's face that just looks so boring.

I'm just going to leave this question here if you don't mind guys:

Is there any chance to get back the torrent files or the video itself for the TGS Gameplay presentation of MGSV? There is no way to get that trailer now :(
Also, the MGO trailer has no torrent and the download is taking hours and still, there is a lot of time remainnig. The same happens with the GDC2014, BUT with the E3 demo, the 30 minutes 14 seconds one, there is no file at all.

I know this is not the place to ask, but can someone help me out?

Story wise what we know so far, According to Sam Lake the game will feature 3 playable characters (Jack Joyce, Beth Wilder, and Paul Serene)

This gameplay video is from Paul Serene's perspective. the last character will be a women.

I feel they went over board with the effects and changing the environments so much. Hopefully I can appreciate the environments without having all the weird effects constantly obstructing my view. Alan Wake may have been my favorite game of last generation, but I sincerely hope this game is not nearly as confusing and mysterious with no real answers in the end.

They definitely went overboard with the effects. Looks really dumb now, and the gameplay didn't look special either. Looks like a bland shooter with overdone effects.

Well i definitely have to agree with RAD, Capcom, Naughty Dog, and Epic. they've all admitted to the difficulty of reintroducing 3rd person mechanics. and it will always be difficult. some companies are adding summersaults to gunplay mechanics and others are trying to reintroduce dual wield, which has been around since the 32 bit era.

If none of this action excites you, "6 tequila shots + VR + 3D + explosions + 4k + 60fps + summersaults + 4 hail maries" might be your thing, because that's the next step over.

the gaming industry is seriously killing themselves for new ideas and i do see the difficulties in surpassing the foundation. there's motion control, leap motion control, VR, 3D, and Hololens. the next step from all this is shipping your ass to the 6th dimension.

I'm obviously being comical. The industry though is definitely having a hard time reintroducing action without QTEs or having to hold a weapon in a different manner. All of the shooters are expected to have explosions, nice visuals and heavy use on the action cam.

I could have fit everything into 1 short simple post but whatever. I see a 8.8-9/10 for this game, 9.5 if they deliver the goods on all three characters. Each character will be able to "control time", special effects does have a toggle button. And each character will have a perspective in the story.

I think alot of the problems brought up against the order will face this game. Too linear. Sections of just walking around. Basically the tropes of a cinematic story based game (which i'm fine with personally) but i think it's going to review around the 6/7 mark becasue of it. Still one i want when i buy a bone

The gameplay itself kind of reminds me of inFAMOUS (which is a good thing), love the visual effects, and the live action stuff doesn't look bad so far. This is probably my most anticipated XB1 game.

@ korndog

What effected the order 1886 from getting a 9 or at least 8/10 wasn't controls, story, and obviously not visuals but restoring gameplay back into the gamer's hands. As Cliff bleszinski mentioned, having a cinemas or QTEs isn't a bad thing, it's unavoidable when trying to tell a story through a game. The only problem with it is when it makes up for a large percentage of the game.

Sadly we don't know much about this game, only 3 videos have been made with captured gameplay. two videos of which are of the same area, one is extended. In this video you can tell the area is on a set path, but you can't tell for sure how big the areas will open up. It's obviously not going to be sandbox scale, but the scenes can open up for multiple paths.

Maybe they misinterpreted the character as a full replacement and forgot this game will feature 3 characters with similar abilities. it wouldn't make sense to do a full character replacement because that would free up two character slots.
