Namco Bandai Games have announced Tekken 3D Prime Edition for the Nintendo 3DS. The package will include the 3D movie Tekken Blood Vengeance. You will find a bunch of assets below.
I just got reminded, I've never much thought the Tekken characters were anything special. A few exceptions like the kangaroo and Heihachi's hair, though.
Looks nice enough for a portable if you ask me. My biggest gripe is the blinn type plastic material used for the characters (well the normal map for Bryans abs is pretty shitty as well, looks like he glued cardboard cutouts on to his stmomach). But hey, it fits in your pocket so expecting too much is just silly. Might have looked better if they wen't for an old school type of texturing though, just paiting in shadows/highlights and details rather than trying to use sub-par looking shaders becasue the hardware isn't all that juicy.
Don't see how Tekken could ever be described as unresposive though. Faulty thumbs or poor reaction time on your part seems more likely :)

The game is unresponsive in my eyes when compared to other fighters such as SF2 etc. It just feels to me as though you hit the button to punch and then the character takes an eternity to respond, (as though there is an unrealistic amount of `weight` to the fighters themselves).
In fairness they might have modified it since the last game of Tekken I ever played.
I am getting older now, but my reflexes are comparable to that of Bruce Lee! My punches can be heard 5 miles away as my iron skin breaks the air and my mind is so sharp, that it creates its own vortex!
My hands are so swift, that they create their own sonic-booms and I can play Ninja Gaiden Black with such poise and precision that I often resemble the fluidity and skilled motion of a bird during flight!
My eyes are as sharp as a hawk and I have wings like a sheet of steel. My nose can smell bacon being cooked from a block away and even though I am coming up to my 33rd birthday at the end of this year....................I am a force of power not to be reckoned with!
Well compared to the 3-frame jabs in SF then yeah, Tekken is slow, but it's not like a jab that goes out in 9-10 frames is SLOW. That's one sixth of a second for a jab :P
The way i see it, that is part what makes Tekken and VF superior fighting games. Instead of having a bloody super combo out of a 3 fram jab, you actually have to set your moves up to trick you opponent or wait for them to make enough of a mistake that you can punish with a launcher. I've tried many times to get in to SF (2, 3, 4 and SSF4AE) but i always feel like i'm struggling more against the controls than i am using my brain to outsmart the opponent :P
But well, to each his own. Bot series obviously have a pretty decent following as far as fighters go, i assume that there's gotta be something there that i'm just not getting.
