One of the biggest issue with The Crew was the rather outdated graphics engine, and clearly the guys over at Ivory Tower took this to heart, as shown by this new trailer for The Crew: Wild Run.
The Crew is the best arcade racer this gen, you race in many crazy locations, and I like the awesome original music in the missions, thanks to Ubisoft for this, some other clueless racing games devs underestimate the importance of a good soundtrack in a racing game, I never buy a racing game unless there's a good soundtrack, and I don't like to listen to my own music on a game.

I wouldnt call the devs clueless but i agree.. arcade racers need a soundtrack to fit!! Going all the way back to to the original Outrun in '86, through the 90s with titles like Scud Racer, Ridge Racer and continuing on with the epic Burnout series and its dynamic volume soundtrack of B2 and Takedown! A decent high energy soundtrack in a racing game gets the adrenalin pumping and puts you right in the zone.
The problem nowadays though is with the spiralling costs of game development a fully licensed ost is often scaled back because of budget.. therefore relying on either original music or "dynamic sounds" audio (shudders) and more often than not, some of the current racing titles "original" music just doesnt work.
This game was mostly about people and what they prefer in racing game. I really love the scale of this game and if it's gonna look this good, I will get it for sure.
Couldn't get in to it either which was a shame as i was really looking forward to it. Definitely agree on the s/track though and kudos for the Outrun mention Ex :D p.s. might even pop in Skate or Die from the c64.

So the base game gets updated graphics as well?
Here is what I read: "In addition to all of this content, Wild Run further enhances the visuals, providing a graphics overhaul to the entire game for both Wild Run and owners of just the base game."
Also, ubisoft moderator wrote in Ubi forum by answering someone's question: "...you’ll need the original game to play The Crew Wild Run as the expansion increases the content of the base game. In other words, it's not a DLC nor a standalone, it is an expansion. No info on Season Pass for the expansion just yet."
