How come Geralt looks very different from the CGI to in-game model?
The CGI Geralt looks way better.

Anyways, cant wait to see combat gameplay since thats the deciding factor for me to bother with this game or not.

Gee, I wonder why. It's almost like having an outside firm make a piece of art that takes minutes or even hours to render single frames on a render farm results in better looking assets than a real time game straddling generations.

You didnt get my point, I wasent talking about graphics, you think I am that stupid to not know the difference.

I meant model, in CGI Geralt looks older, has beard, his hair doesnt look like a punk with buzzcut trimmed on the side like his in-game model.
I was hoping the CGI Geralt design was in-game model as well.

Those pics in "GC: Killing Monsters Stills" can't be in game can they? Looks like CGI or the graphic's really stunning! Just look at the pic with the woman... wow.

Ignoring that fizzly "noise" issue that's going on with most of the environment (like the textures have all gone through about 20 clicks of the sharpen image filter in photoshop) it all looks a bit...assassins creed visually. Design is really nice, but other then that, i'm not seeing anything particularly "wow" here?

The cgi likely takes place in a different point in the story timeline
His scar is more healed, and he clearly looks older

Also this is the best looking game we've seen lately, especially for its genre and scale.
In motion it's even better

its not because I favour the game highly, theres other next gen games i'm looking forward to playing more. But this is simply impressive stuff. I've not seen an open world game look so good... those dense forests, imaginative creatures, and all the little effects going on. The worlds full of life. It looks great in screens, but even better in motion.

Probably, I thought we would play as Geralt in that state, and now young to old unless that old Geralt is just through ending or something. Anyways thats nothing to have a heavy focus on since it doesnt matter to me that much compared to its gameplay.

Its all good, but others say Infamous SS is the best looking, then someone else says Ryse is...etc., i just found it funny lol

...... :/

after seeing the CGI shots and looking at the gameplay ones; i just feel like the game is just 2 with substantially better visuals. http://www.gamersyde.com/pop_images_the_witcher_3_...

really wish they don't use CGI too much, because they're way too good at it.

It's maintaining better visuals while also becoming an open world game

Looks pretty damned good. Right up there with a heavily modded Skyrim. Distant textures could use some work but the models look great. It still doesn't quite look open world though, did they say it was this time? A lot of those screens appear to have static backgrounds.

Anyway, this may be my first chance to play a Witcher game. How is the combat in the series? I have heard some negative things, but it has to be better than Elder Scrolls games right?

Yep. Open World. I think I even remember them saying you could pull the whole "go to the mountain in the distance" thing.

I'm in the middle of Witcher 2 right now. I LOVE it. It can be tough though- you really have to watch your positioning and not let yourself get surrounded. Back strikes kill you fast. Love it...

Seeing as how PC at the high end is still more powerful than the next gen consoles, that is debatable.

PCs don't really have "generations", lol. At least if you are constantly upgrading. Considering Witcher 3 is a step above two in graphics as well as scale, I think it can qualify as "next gen"...
