PC Xbox 360 PS3

The GDC is not quite short of an utter loss of time for us, with barely anything worth filming, so even a quite average video like this Far Cry 2 one is very news worthy. But it sure does look nice.

Yawnfest, a guy standing around in a field blowing off peices of tree with a pistol, nothing we haven't seen already.

So is GDC really that crappy? Not any big news really is there, only thing worth viewing was the Fable 2 vids and pics, other then that, one big "meh".

Oh and before people saying blah blah blah, my opinion, kthnx.

Another engine show off.
Very great looking engine for sure, but I want to see/hear more about the story, about the actual game itself, not the engine.

It a game DEVELOPERS conference. Not another E3 or something similar to that. The conference i primarily about making games, not about advertising and showing off new titles.

Again, engine looks nice. But it's the same with Crysis. They can make these games as pretty as they want, but maybe the game would actually sell if they made something that was actually worth playing, rather than just looking at?

Thank you, I was just about to say this. It seems that hardly anyone understands this.

Because believe it or not there are some people in the world that can't be at GDC and enjoy reading and seeing coverage of it. It's not that hard to understand.

I would agree if we could at least film the conferences. For us video outlets, it's a very frustrating show.

For those that are interested in these stuff, and there is alot of people out there that enjoy it.

I like to see any type of video that involves my must buy games, and so far I have seen 3...Too Human, Fable 2 and Ninja Gaiden 2.

But this is GDC; some people make it seem its E3 or TGS, do not expect much.

I still want to see Project Offset, even if its a engine show off, just shows how long they have come with the engine itself.

I think Ubi is gonna make Far Cry 2 like Crysis, show off the engine alot of what it can do...etc.

Looks absolutely georgous! I'm just growing a little tired of these insanely repetitive environments. Sure it looks amazing, but I'd like to see some more imaginative environments.

I know, the setting and concept of the game doesn't allow for much exciting environments but who in their right mind creates a game that takes place in the open fields of Africa?! What's next...the desert with nothing but rocks and dust? Come on, a little imagination can't hurt!

you people are getting spoile by the minute!
cmon, this is a developers conference, so why is it so strange to see an engine showing off?
and "yawnfest"? this looks quite impressive, dynamic weather, shooting pieces of trees of, trees reacting realistically to the wind? Quite cool and not so boring i must say.

They already showed all those effects with this engine some months ago, so there was nothing new. Still nice to see, but I doubt I will be able to play this on my PC...

I think this GDC has been more exciting than the last E3 & Tokyo Game Show combined, at least for me anyways.

I we got to see some bad ass Ninja Gaiden II footage, play free XNA games, got a peek at the technology that will probably be in Gears of War 2 and they finally announced it, GDC reminded me about Castle Crashers, I am 10X more excited about Fable 2, and Too Human actually looks pretty good now.

Anyways.... Farcry 2 looks awesome.

the growing tree at the end is kind of crazy...are you really ever going to play for long enough to see a tree grow? perhaps its some kind of feature hint.

I wish ghost recon could go back to big outdoor environments like this.

It looks like its pretty good tech.

I'm pretty satisfied with this years GDC as well. At least we're promissed a NG 2 demo, it's more worth than any E3 or TGS in my book. I'm so pumped for it...

the guy said it wont feature in the game

i liked the video, it looks good. but i wish it wasnt all just about shooting, i would love for this game to be a survial/shooter. like hunt animals and make fires and climb mountains...just to add something differant to all the shooting...because this setting has good potential for these elements

otherwise its very much like alot of games ive already played.

nice graphics though

You might have a point if Crysis wasn't one of the best FPS of recent history and didn't sell over a million copies

It looks very cool. Nice effects, cool grass, the wind and rain feel very real... this engine could create some very tight athmosphere in a game... when well used ^^
