Wii

In my now rather long career I think I've never had to put online such a strange and/or idiotic trailer, and we have thousands of videos here now. I don't know if this one is genius or plain dumb, so I'll let you guys decide. One thing is certain, Geometry Wars: Galaxies should be a great game.

I have been playing Geometry Wars from day one on PGR and part of me looks of this and thinks Sell out!!! Plus i don,t think think game on a Wii will play that great on the control set up...... 1,000,000+ points it would be way to hard

On the other Hand the DS ver will rock

I can,t wait to see how much of Geometry Wars: Galaxies makes it into PGR4

o yeah what price will this game cost??? after all on the xbox360 400 points £2 odd pounds i think i could just have as much fun =S

Maybe I should clarify something about the trailer. The music is an old song by the awesome band They Might Be Giants. The lyrics fit eerily well with the game. :D

Games like this need online leaderboards, achievements ect. I enjoyed the 360 verison of Geometry wars, but it gets really hard after only a few minutes, kinda off putting for casual gamers.

It does have online leaderboards, and in addition to the 360 game there's tons of other planets to play on so that you can move on if you can't get any further on a certain planet.

I think the question rather becomes how Galaxy holds up as a full game as opposed to a casual fling on XBLA. I'm not so sure it does.

That's why they made Galaxies mission based.... kinda like Mutant Storm. The only difference is that you can buy upgraded weapons and a new "buddy pod" with different behaviors.

For the Wii version you aim by pointing the wiimote and move by using the nun-chuck Analog stick. There's a small red beam representing where you're pointing at on the screen.
For the DS version you use the stylus to aim and the d-pad to move.
Hope that clears things up. :)

Wow, the photography was rubbish.

Question: why do the trailer in 720p, when the Wii is limited to 480p output?

I think with the wiimote though, it might be actually slightly easier as you can re-aim a little faster. I guess.

Did any of you guys notice the really crappy 3dmesh in the background on the wii sucks? If I remember correctly, developers at Bizzare Creations said a single Core alone on the XBOX 360 was being dedicated to calculating the way the 3dmesh behaves upon being struck by different firepower and blasts. :)

?????!!!?????

I am truly at a loss for words to describe what I just saw.

Just one thing..............Can we really call Geometry Wars a casual game? Yes it does look retro, it's fun and has very addictive elements to it but it's not the easiest game to play.

Are they sure this is for the casual crowd?

The graphics have been mega downgraded, and not just in terms of resolution. I'm shocked the Wii couldn't handle GeoWars.

hmm.. $5.. or $50 for a generic added story, ala several of the past bombermans... Actually, I havn't watched it yet, but I am downloading the mp4 with my ps3, making this simply amazing.

Oh.my.god!

What on earth was that?! I don't think I can support the creation of such monstrosities by buying this game!

DS version perhaps.
