Trailer PC PS4 Xbox One

Revealed a few days ago by The Farm 51 (Deadfall Adventures, NecroVisioN), Get Even has now a first teaser trailer and some screenshots. The FPS mixes single-player and multiplayer experiences as online players can control the single-player's enemies and get another view at the game's storyline, which revolves around the main characters' memories. The title is "oriented toward digital distribution" and set to release in 2015 for PC, PS4 et Xbox One.

Getting a time-travel revenge story vibe out of this. Not sure about the multiplayer, sounds cool I guess.

Screens look awful but the teaser trailer mostly does not. Amazing lighting, if that is how it's going to look in the final game, that is.

99% of that trailer was real, right? Looked live action to me.

Nope. Although I'm uncertain if it was CGI or the game with a load of fancy post filters thrown on it to make it look more real or cinematic.

Are you sure. Even the screens look like badly photoshoped real photography with shitty super imposed CGi? In fact. I'd go as far as saying all but the steady, camera movement shot through the holes in the walls was live action.

I think it is actually real time, if you compare it to their real time tech demo released earlier. At least I think they want to convince us that these are the type of visuals we are going to get. Lighting looks damn impressive.

Elsewhere i've read the trailer is indeed live action mixed with in-engine. And i'm going to say all the scenes where a steady cam seems to be in effect is in-engine. The rest (intro fly through, soldiers running etc) is live action.

I'm always weary when the first thing they announced for a game is how great the graphics engine is. If it's just another bland FPS then who cares how good it looks. We already have Crytek for that.

LOL...you poor kids were saying the same thing a year ago and then Quantic Dreams showed a real-time demo of the Sorcerer playing on a PS4 and even now you guys still have Call of Duty graphics burned into your brains. Thinking nothing better is capable. LOL. This generation. But that's what happens when you have a generation that cares nothing but about numbers and resolutions and fps. The good old PS2/PS3 Xbox/360 kids.

Why don't you just leave instead of making a fool of yourself at every post? You sound like a bot, repeating the same thing over and over again and you're making the old generation of gamers like mine ashamed. :)

Yeah, fairly certain it's at least in-engine. If you look very carefully at the part where the camera pans into the mobile phone sitting on a block, you can see the block is actually just a low res model with a fairly low res texture on it. It looks convincingly real though, which brings me back to a point a made a while ago with textures not really needing to look super detailed to look real. In some cases less detail fools the eye.

Yeah it definitely is a mix of the two, but from what I've read, the engine is supposed to be pretty impressive. I can't remember what site I read the preview on, but they said that tech is pretty groundbreaking. I read that it was designed for cinema use in movies similar to Scanner Darkly. Apparently it uses full scans of real world locations to get very photo realistic visuals without requiring a lot of the coding involved in world building.

From Farm 51's website (Polish translation):
Graphics GET EVEN based on 3D scans of real locations and characters. Innovative technology is being developed in our studio in extensive cooperation with research institutions and external specialists. In such a scale will be applied for the first time in video games. Technology has been recognized and acclaimed for industry meetings Game Connection event in Paris, where the company The Farm 51 GET EVEN presented for the first time.

Also from a DSO preview:
To create the photo-realistic visuals that bring the gritty universe to life, Get Even is the first game to use large-scale, real-world scanning to create expansive and lifelike environments. This 3D scanning technology combines with advanced lighting effects to create a stunning and believable world that pushes the boundaries of the genre.

The combination of the tech and the weird plot/mechanics are interesting to say the least...

The block and phone are computer graphics, but i'd say nothing else in that scene is. It's already known it's a mix of the two now, which is what i assumed..makes it all the less impressive because of it too. If theres one thing i hate more then a CGi trailer, it's a live action one. Blergh.

Yeah, but it's hard to discern between the two. You have to look close, which is still fairly impressive. The thing is though, it reminds me of the COD AC130 mission. When things are in colour and there's no motion blur, it looks like a game, but once it switches to black and white and adds the grain filter and the blur, it looks almost totally convincing. Same trick here.

I dunno, there is a pretty huge gap between the live action and graphics imo. The bit where the camera is flying through the holes in the wall is very "gamey" to me...live action in a trailer for a GAME is a no-no for me. And the screens look meh. I'll wait till they show something worth seeing.

It's basically CGI. Doesn't even matter if they end up saying it's in-engine. The game won't look nearly as clean. There's zero AA or anisotropy going on there. I still think a game could possibly get close to that, though. I'm unsure about the opening sequence. The way the camera pans around certainly indicates it's not a physicaly real camera.

Over half of that video is real footage, you can clearly see where it goes into cgi footage as you pass through a door way just before you see the woman

which did not look life like, like they are saying lol and then we see these screen shots that look like any other bland game lol

hilarious

Looks good BUT obviously things have changed lol, in the above video you can clearly see where it changed to footage maybe done by the games engine, and it does not look all that real compared to the video in the link you sent infact its nothing like that since ou can clearly see the join between the real and the cgi/game section

plus how do you explain the screen shots that look no better than any other game? infact worse than some games?

the fact is if this was really as real looking as they try to make out then those screen shots would be WOW they would have made she they looked WOW and they didnt because they are trying to do something that wont be possible yet
