Trailer PC Xbox 360 PS3

Bethesda and Splash Damage have released a really good video of their team-based shooter BRINK. It gives you the basics of the game, from its modes (campaign, freeplay, challenges) to the gameplay itself and even a tutorial. BRINK will be in stores on May 10th in North America and on May 13th in Europe.

I would have thought this was right up your alley, Grift. What is it exactly about the combat that has you worried?

I'm worried that it will share some qualities with Enemy Territory Quake Wars in that department, especially since it's using an upgraded version of the same engine. ETQW had this sorta inconsistent feel. There's something about the movement, the hit registration, the jumpy animations and the unconvincing way that objects interact with the environment that made that game less than it could have been. I think ETQW has a lot to do with my hesitation. It's a game that I really liked on paper. Hell, I really liked some of it in practice.. but it missed the quality mark.

I'm leaning towards picking it up though. The most anticipated MP thing I have behind BF3 is Red Orchestra 2, and it still has no release date.

Nice features and all, but I really hate the crazy weapon bobbing when moving and the ugly character artstyle.
This game needs online demo.

the artstyle is the one and only thing i really love about this game, the rest doesn't really interest me much.

i agree about the weapon bob tho, makes it look like you're skippng about...lol. i noticed it when the first footage was shown but assumed it would be toned down or removed...i guess not.

@Grift. Fair enough. I never got round to playing QW so wasn't really aware of those issues. Fingers crossed they've ironed them out.

Game is looking good to me. I have it pre-ordered and it will likely be my next multiplayer that i play a lot. I think ive gotten all i could get out of KZ3 at this point. I might switch my pre-order over to the 360 version tho.
