They were singing "Dream On". Now, they will be in one of the most popular videogames. Yes, another musical game is in preparation, called Guitar Hero: Aerosmith for the PS2, PS3, Wii and X360. The famous rock'n'roll american band will be a signifiant milestone in the successful series story next June. Click for more details.
Aerosmith has been chosen among many other bands for its rich and varied musical catalog. Don't think this game is just "a musical game with specific songs on a disc to make more cash out of the Guitar Hero cow", but a chance to live the career of this quintuplet, with its historical moments. There's even the possibility to play some of the songs that inspired Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer. What does that mean exactly, that's a good question. To celebrate this announcement, Activision will offer a free download of the masterpiece song "Dream On" (Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock) on the Xbox Live Marketplace from February 16-18. I think many guitars will rock on!

Unfortunately, that's exactly what it is.
I think i'll just stick to GHIII Legends of Rock (:
And 80s rock and metal is still a better concept than...Aerosmith :P
I wouldn't necessarily listen to the music in 3 more than 2, but a lot of the songs are simply great fun to play. ...although I have to express my full-blown, unadulterated HATE for the Sonic Youth song; it was aural rape from start to finish.
GH: Aerosmith would be a decent $20 pick-up for Aerosmith fans I suppose. I enjoy their music, but a whole game of one band could get pretty tired. The GH series certainly isn't dead to me because they chose to do this though... that'd be silly.
But, it is :)
Making sure they earn back the $$ they spent on the Guitar Hero licence.
Its disgusting.
sorry thats all i can say about this PURE SAD.
ok not everyone has lets say a harddrive for there xbox....some with no internet....and so on
I can,t wait for rock band to hit the uk =) because Activision really know how to milk it now
Is it that some of you would rather just pay for 3-song packs instead of buying a whole game... as if you're somehow forced to buy the game...lest your lives be incomplete because you can't pretend to play Dude Looks Like a Lady?
Megido: Song choices don't mean much to me when they sound terrible though. My absolute favourite band had a song in GH2, but I don't enjoy playing it one bit because of how butchered it is. I also find the starred notes harder to see in GH2, and the little jolt that occurs when you activate star power is distracting. Note placement must be subjective, because I definitely find 3 does a better job. I do agree that the difficulty ramps up a bit too quickly though...to the point of frustration.
"Dream On" is comming to the PSN aswell
Now, i dont know if you like art being turned into shit, but i dont.
Obviously any company needs profit to survive. But when the quest for money overshadows the quest to do something new or well, its changed from art to merchandize. (Absolute Music 29482, Aliens VS Predator 16, etc)
So i reserve the right to complain when a music/movie/game company puts $ in front of the artform, thank you.
