Trailer PS3

Sony released this new trailer of God of War 3, showing as expected some incredibly huge enemies, or should I say levels?

i'm just amazed that it's compiled of in-game footage, as in, the same shit you see when you play, no cinematics, no cutscenes. kinda unbelivable tbh. i can't wait, but first...heavy rain baby. w00t.

What a overhyped Trailer!!! Sure the game will most likely be an amazing game. But this trailer didn´t get me pumped at all in terms of new stuff and scale that wasn´t already seen on screens or wasn´t talked about. I thought they would show more of a bird´s eye view of the whole gigantic scenario. And the "my vengeance, chaos bla, bla, bla stuff" from Kratos sounds quite bromidic in the meantime. Well, nevertheless I think the lucky guys that have a PS3 will have one awesome exclusive more .

The trailer was incredible! Kratos is still a douche, albeit a "badass" douche, lol. I'm not in love with the series, but this looks awesome! My wallet cries! Cue Thor...

Nice trailer, but too short. 1/4th of the trailer's running time went toward the Sony Santa Monica Studios logo splash after all.

Having just commented on Alan Wake being the best looking thing I've seen to date so far this gen, after having seen this, it's cast a grain of doubt on that notion. That looked absolutely stunning. Although having said that, Wake is a vastly open-world sandbox type game, whereas this is more linear. Which is the more technically impressive? It's a debate within myself, and not a flame bate for this thread. Anyway, GoW 3 looks amazing, and it's games like this that will eventually have me looking to get a PS3. Amazing stuff.

I really dig the way the game looks in motion. I don't know if its the motion blur or what but the movement looks really nice. Also, gotta hand it to the artist for doing a great job on the details. Everything about this just screams BEST MONEY CAN BUY! - you can really tell they had the opportunity to pour a great deal of resources in to this to make sure that everything looks, sounds and feels as spectacular as possible. Great job Santa Monica, can't wait to get experience the end product.

It is amazing how far the Santa Monica studio has come since the PS2 days (from Kinetica to this!), not to mention how far Sony's first party studios have come since the PS1 days.

Hmm .... IMO GOW3 will be the best PS3 game.

GOW3 will be superior to Alan wake in every way, dude. This is made by Sony Santa Monica. These guys are really good. GOW is an action game may be Heavy rain is a good comparison to Alan wake :p

The water horse beast eating away at the arm of Gaia at the end of the trailer is actually 'The Leviathan', and wow that's an amazing abominable design, a horse and a crab merged... and here is the amazing modelling video of it:

I know games should be free and the devs should work for free and for the passion of making games.

Actually, I see it in this way that Alan Wake is one of the proper most developed games of this gen, as it took the right development time for dev, around 5 years that is !!! most shining games have also taken a comparable walk and turned out amazing like Killzone-2, Heavy Rain and GT5 is coming up to be...

But yeah, there are exceptions, Uncharted 2 took only around 18 months to develop and for a challenge, that game will remain unsurpassed for a long time. See, interactive water, some interactive vegetation, moving world technology, free climbing and with that the real-time physics shift and some of the most varied environments are just added to insane draw distances and a remarkable gameplay... all this also boasting rich colours and a huge online component is something Alan Wake will be hard pressed to topple, and even if it does half of that stuff, we don't know how will 'Lost' style episodic storyline fare...

And yeah, Remedy has been clear on this, Alan Wake is no longer a sandbox experience, its pretty linear and focused story oriented. We have yet to see something really transcendent in it except lighting and blooming... physics, interactivity, maneuverability, AI and other 'extensive-features' etc. are yet to be displayed!

Even still, from the lighting, dynamics and 'geometry-processing' point of view, gow3 proofs itself through this real-time trailer, way healthier than needed that even with only 3 years of development, it surpasses even the beastly featuristic technical masterpiece Uncharted-2... let alone Alan Wake, that has to proof its technology yet other than lighting!
