does this explain why every enemy you kill disappears instantly?

the same way most games like this have enemies that dissapear in a poof of smoke? to save resources to make the game look as epic as it does and have more enemies on screen? come on, bit of common sense goes a long way

No, that's a truth reply, it's to save on resources, just like most games. Why render a dead guy that is just a pointless asset on screen, when you can render an extra guy to actually fight?

As i said, common sense. It's quite useful.

I must agree with KORNdog. Its so common, You cant be surprised. Even in FarCry 3 enemies disappear after some time and You dont have to go far from them. Imagine the screen, when every little bastard, You kill during some major slaughtering, remains on the screen. What a mess!

They do after a while. In fact, the last FPS i remember truely keeping enemies on screen forever until level completion, was doom (i'm sure there must have been a handfull of more modern examples?). And that was used as a form of pathfinding. Even doom 3 didn't have enemies that stuck around because, you know, there are more important things to render than a dead body.

Wow the butthurt is strong with this one... hey did you play Crysis 1 and Warhead on a powerfull rig? Tell me why when you back track do the enemy stand up like they are doing frozen jumping jacks?

Enemies disappearing when killed is common on BOTH current gen consoles... pretty sure it will be common on Wii U and let me spoil a secret from the future....

It will STILL be common for most games even first party games on both next gen consoles.

play gears of war.

body's ofcourse disappear EVENTUALLY, but its disgustingly lame how quick they disappear in God of war. atleast have it stay after slaying a mini boss. there is no sense of carnage, i want to see the mess i caused after each battle

There are parts in GoW where you fight dozens of enemies including some huge ones. If they didn't disappear, you would either have to maneuver around them -which would greatly prohibit your movements during fights- or you would just walk/clip right through them - which would look pretty poor. Keep in mind that simply kicking around dead enemies like in Gears of War wouldn't really work, since some of the enemies are many times the size of Kratos.

Wow... complaining about dead body's vanishing?.. How about how you can get pumped with bullets and hide in a corner for your blood to regenerate?.. Once again these are redundant questions...

Answer to alot of questions: Its a video game.

Same here, couldn't agree more with you !
I want to see what i did after all the action !

The last game that really put me of with this was this Chow Yun Fat game STRANGLEHOLD ! They advertised the Sh.t out of the destruction but how lame it was, everything was just gone ! I wanted to see the Bloodbath i left behind !

There are ways to get this done, but most people and coders / designers just don't think of it :( not crazy and sadist enough in there heads !

Play Ninja Gaiden 2 and Razor's Edge, they stay and you get more pieces of those bodies you killed.

even those don't do it, well, a lot of them anyway. MGS, even my recent GOTY dishonored didn't do it. knock out 3 enemies and the previous ones start dissapearing. makes the body hiding a little bit pointless.

Korn you should have stopped right there :p but he's right GangStarr - consoles still suck in this way sadly (only a handful of games dare leave dead bodies laying around on levels)
