Lighting is amazing. Defiantly want to try this game when I get a PS3.

Though I am concerned about how driving games are with a PS3 controller.

@b0vril: I have to say that I worried about the PS3 controller in combination with a racing game, but when you adjust the controlls in a way that the triggers function as a brake and gas, then it turns out to be okay. In my opinion it's not as good as the Xbox controller, but it's still better then I thought it would be. Anyhow, recently I bought a Logitech G25 racing wheel. Now that's the real deal! GT5 has never been more fun to play. :D

aside from the fact GT defaults to face button/analogue stick drive and break. it's fine. switch it to triggers and you're away.

Lighting amazing? Check all those props without a shadow.. Average graphics and gameplay is not special anymore. Not something I'm interested in.

I wouldn't go that far (unless sarcastic??) but it is a shame the game is coming out at such a bad time. I'm sure it will sell well but it's gonna be hard to play this when there are next gen racers on the market.

This game is going to be huge. I think this will be the most advanced game of this gen and I hope Eurogamer does some research on how they pulled it off. AA, adaptive tessellation on spu's. PS4 gpu will support this but for PS3 instead of using cheap tricks like Forza and other racing game with different LOD. They are doing that. HDR improvement. Smoke affects, shadow improvement to name a few. http://i.minus.com/iyiyVcdQtZ9XZ.gif

average graphics? pffft...

I think some folks don't like that they are aiming for photo-realistic style rather than the usually more exotic look that other racers have.

For diehard fans/wannabe racers, the rest will ignore as usual. I try to be open minded but GT bore me to death.

Humm... Seems to me they're trying too hard to show off the trees and the overall environment improvements they worked on for GT6, which in my opinion isn't quite a smart move even tho it seems like they did a decent job. But considering trees are by far the more irrelevant part of the game and also the fact that ps3 cant hide from its age, which by now makes it pretty much impossible to compete against other racing games on other platforms when it comes to the environments department, I think they should focus at all times on showing off what the game is best on - car visuals and details, driving physics.

But nonetheless, the visuals package as an whole look absolutely stunning for its good old hardware. The light is still one of the best in my eyes.

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT

Take a look how the sense of speed drastically changes at some parts of the track as walls and trees get close to you. This is what I've been talking about. I'm so glad this guys kept Gran Turismo away from the arcade feel that racing games are getting into lately. And boy, the game looks fine. Thank you, PD.
