Commented on 2006-03-06 18:49:04And whatever freaking happen to the Outfit demo promised on March 3rd? MS is really starting to piss gamers off. It's not a very good time to hold out on games! Especially after announcing that Street Fighter II will be on XLA and nothing has surfaced, not even a release date.

Seems like it ships to stores tommorow in the US, which would make the release date..wednesday? I'm gonna phone EB just to make sure..still think I may buy into that outpost.com deal though..I just hope I get the game in good time.
Hmm, perhaps that's not worth it--with next day air it comes out to $57.63--a little cheaper than $59.99 + 3% but not by much.

Most normal people will wait for a demo before buying a game but I guess if you have no life and MUST MUST *MUST* have the game on launch day then I guess I can see how some people will be disappointed in a delay in releasing the demo.

THQ passed the demo (which has already passed certification) to MS last week and it's been sitting in Microsoft's hands since then.

I'm in Holland and my gameshop told me they'll have GRAW for sale tomorrow in the morning already...so last week it was still said to be releasing this friday, later on
it was this wednesday and now it's already tomorrow,...oh yeaaaahhhH!
Commented on 2006-03-06 20:27:02Xbox Marketplace has the demo available to download now.
Major Nelson's blog reiterated how careful they have to be with content to avoid the screw up Ubisoft did with their King Kong Demo.
Commented on 2006-03-06 21:13:54The marketing for graw was pretty top notch with a demo on marketplace it would've been better.
Wow what a great trailer and even adding the advertisement from ign about the reviews at the end ;)

Commented on 2006-03-06 22:01:15OXM has a pretty long lead time for their covers. The only "exclusive" they've had so far was Full Auto, and that demo was more or less the X05/TGS one.
A lot of thinking has to go into editing the marketplace content. Sure, Microsoft could flood it with content but that would only ultimately devalue that content for the respective publishers. Look at it this way, THQ are already hard up against it going against GRAW (Even though they are different and good games in their own rights). GRAW is massivley anticipated, The Outfit less so, the demo is their big chance to make a splash before GRAW is out, how pissed are they if the GRAW demo comes out the same day.
MS are doing a great job so far of letting stuff come out when it's ready and drip feeding the marketplace accordingly. It's a difficult balance with a lot of interested parties and factors but they're doing a pretty good job of it so far, give em some slack. Nobody else is doing this yet
Commented on 2006-03-06 22:25:58Can not wait until GRAW and I think we should have a national week long holiday called GRAWeek.
Ubi is my favorite developer and will continue to be, until I play R6:Vegas and it's a lockdown clone...but at least they have the Rainbow Six 3 lead designer working on it.

It just blows my mind that people would bitch and complain about something free.

Multiple sites reported that the demo would be online last week..so it was perfectly reasonable for people to think that it may have been..and no, not random forum fanboy posts--real "legitimate" gaming sites.
And for many, the Marketplace represents part of the advanced services that MS has been promising w/ Xbox Live 360--services that we pay for by buying their hardware and by subscribing to xbox live..so uh, yea..patience is nice and all, but people are entitled to their opinions..maybe you should be more patient in dealing with other gamers? heh..
Commented on 2006-03-06 23:27:02Now if this has been said, I think you should stick to it, otherwise people will get pist off obviously...
And if they decide to delay the demo, just anounce it, so everybody knows where they're at, otherwise it's just confusing and enoying...
