Not sure why anyone would still ask this question. If it's multi platform then 99.9% of the time they will be showing the pc version. End of story.

I'd agree with you though on the demo. It would have to be damn impressive to convince me to buy a codies racer at this point.

Say whatever you want but for me grid was the most fun driving multi play game ever.

Looks beautiful, but damn they need to tone down all the bloom and lighting effects. EVERY SINGLE headlight. taillight, lamplight, bald head, and water droplet does not need to have lens flare shooting off it like fireworks. It's like they let me 5 year old play with the effects and he just said f@ck it, use em all!

Still a bit disappointed about the lack of in cockpit view, but everything else looks amazing!

Yes...looks great. But without it, it will never be intense driving for me. WTF happened with these cockpits? You cant make a game with it and make a step back in the next game by removing it. Are they even thinking? Is it some sort of plague, developers are trying to avoid or what? They have most of the cockpits from previous games anyway, so why bother making a "racing" game without it? Its just wasted time on another bumper-cam racing game. It looks like, that Codies havent decided yet, if they want to make a racing game or just arcade steering game. I enjoyed some of their previous games WITH cockpits. I read, some smart-ass from Codemaster said, only 5% of players use cockpit. :-D This is the most stupid bullshit I have ever heard. Who made this statistic? He called to his 5 no-cockpit friends and ask them and then released this bullshit? Come on....ya lazy bastards!

Before someone starts some fight over cockpit yes or no, this is just my opinion, because I like to play racing games from cockpit and dont understand to this step back. I know many people prefer to drive while looking on the car from behind or from bumper, but still....I dont like their decision. You cant call it a racing game, when You dont give players a chance to have it as close as possible to real thing.

They are far to Americanised these days but i guess we are lucky they have not ditched racers altogether considering how shit sales have been for genre over the past 2-3 years.

Lack of cockpits = fail. Narrative = fail.

Graphics look decent - nothing better then what's about.

I know this site loves coding everything at 60fps. That trailer does not work at 60 though, looks very wrong.

TOCA was the best game, but this needs cockpits.

Sick of shit street circuits in famous places. When you're actually playing the game all you're doing is looking for the next apex so I don't care if the Arc de Fuckoff if looking pretty next to the track.

Grumble

Not sure what you mean by "Americanized", but the DIRT games have always sold far better in Europe (to the tune of almost 2-1) than the states, so if Europeans hate "Americanized" stuff so much, they should probably stop purchasing them so frequently. Dirt 3 and Dirt Showdown sales in the US were horrid (and again FAR better in Europe), so whatever Codemasters and yourself believe Americans want is clearly wrong.

Also, games like Forza sell far better in the US than Europe, so based on factual information, I would say sim style games are "Americanized" and games like DIRT3 and DIRT Showdown are "Europeanized"......

What? No. DiRT is the very definition of americanized. it might be in vain (as you said, they sold poorly in the US) but they tried hard as hell to appeal to them with the dude bro "extreme" attitude.

But the thing is, Americans hate that as much or more than Europeans. Therefore, just because you and a few misguided marketing departments believe it, does not make it so. My point is, calling it "Americanized', is idiotic, since based on factual evidence, it is preferred in Europe. Maybe we should change what we call it?

Americanised isn't a term based on popularity though. It's a term based on the market they're aiming for. Compare colin mcrae, hell, dirt 1 to dirt 2. Everything they did was in an attempt to lure in the US audience, the events, the looks, the attitude, the voice overs. It didn't work, but it didn't make it any less americanised.

They worked on Dirt 2 & 3 before going back to Grid.

If Codemasters cannot get the American public buying this game...where do they go from here?
