GSY Preview PS5

As some of you may know already, we belong to the chosen-few Sony selceted to receive a Playstation 5 early. Today we're very happy to share with you our first homemade PS5 content with this preview video of Astro's Playroom. Because we wanted to keep it short so you would actually consider watching the whole thing, we may not have been able to cover everything we could have in a longer format, but we hope it will be enough for you to get what made the experience so interesting. As we are Gamersyde after all, expect the best possible video quality in 4K/60fps.

Very charming stuff, got that Nintendo quality to it. not surprised the press is loving this little title, Astro Bot Rescue Mission is great, still my favorite VR game.

Astro's Playroom sounds really fun. I had watched a preview and discussion about it, without spoilers, because there's some really cool stuff that's worth not spoiling.

It really does feel like it has that Nintendo charm. It reminded me of Super Mario Odyssey and 3D World, which is a great thing. I hope most people actually play it for more than just a few minutes, seems like a little fun game worth finishing.

Looks cute and Nintendo. And yeah the HD rumble on Switch is so weak, it can't really convey much. I mainly only play first party games on Switch and only Mario Odyssey has show it off well, and even then it's usually subtle. The way the little scooters engine could be felt in the controller was cool though. I imagine in racing games on PS5 going over the side of the track will give a good effect, if the devs can be bothered to code it.

As for Astro its self. Graphically it looks derived from the VR game, but with bumped up textures and such. At least it's 4k60 native. But I did notice in your video the shadow resolution is quite poor. I hope it's not that bad in the final as according to DF system firmware updates have also included updates for the game.

Yhea, thats kinda sony's problem if their dev software require heavy integration from the devs to begin with, then forget all about this.

I disagree. I don't think it will be a gimmick and I suspect you will see many games support it. I don't see Sony being invested money & research just to get bypassed by devs after a year or 2.

This is much more complex and well thought mechanism with tons more potential. Time will tell.

I am curious about the haptics and triggers but honestly I'll probably tinker with it for a day then turn it off forever. I've just never been one for these types of gimmicks and they end up just annoying and distracting me. And it's possible that trigger resistance is going to make your fingers pretty tired and achy after a while.
