Trailer PS3

Now that the release of Gran Turismo 5 is announced for next November, the buzz machine should (re)start its engine very soon. Let's start with two 1080p videos proving once again how beautiful the game looks. To be fair, these two videos could already be seen on the web during E3 but we only got our hands on them today.

The cars look like they're sliding.....weird. But in the graphics department, they nailed it.

And great classic cars ;)

Agreed. Gorgeous game. It does still to lack something in the physics department. Can't really put my finger on it, but I think it has to do with tire contact with the driving surface. It does look like they are sliding.

The only thing keeping this from perfection is the damage. I thought they were going all out? The only damage I have seen is minor denting of a Nascar with a 180 mph T-bone collision. That should have destroyed that car. It kinda looks weird also when all the cars are flipping over and flying but still sparkling brand new looking. Anyway, minor nitpicking aside, this will be the best racer of all time!

When in the HELL are they coming out with this game? This is almost approaching Alan Wake status.

Graphics looks like a complete mixed bag. Going from unbelievable to completely bland. Also now that we have damage, the lack of a real physics engine is showing badly... Cars bump and move very unrealistically. Also no underbody again!? come on... you have stunning car models with 1/3 of the car exterior missing...

Can't wait for the game to drop, but man all their dick waving and they are missing the mark in some areas.

The game looks really good as you say, and I also agree with the sliding. I've never liked the GT series because of that, it just doesn't feel right.

Ignorance in this thread is appalling. none of you have been following this. Very old videos but anyways ... No wonder why GS gave this best gfx of E3. This game is going to be so epic.

Finally a realistic game both in looks and gameplay

First time i've seen these vids in true HD and the inconsistency is much more apparent now. It goes from looking downright incredible to looking downright awful, I dont think i've ever seen a more inconsistent game in my life.

Still not convinced by the physics, I noticed this in all the E3 gameplay vids, the cars still dont act/react realistically, just seems unpredictable and weird.

GT4 car modls very too good for PS2. They were downsampled. They have got most accurate models anyways because of their nerd like attention to detail lol. So cars, tracks, gfx and most important physics are going to be spot on. It is miles ahead of others. They need to get online and other things now to that level. 16 cars online and 32 cars lobby sounds great. Hope we get confirmation at gamescon

Graphics are gonna great I'm sure (even if there are the standard cars that have the painted on headlights). It's really the physics and online that's gonna make or break this game. Online racing features have come a long way since the days of GT4 so PD needs to really do something special in both physics and online for this game to set itself apart.

At this point, after all this time and the fanboy misinformation from both sides, I simply have no idea what to expect. Either way I'm sure I'll still being getting the game right away.

We never got a GT5 demo, one was GT HD (now scrapped) and GT academy challenge.

I believe by the time it gets released, it would've been longer in development than Alan Wake. Looks more like Too Human to me.

apart from numerous cars, tracks it also has day/night cycles, variable weather-effects, and some sort track editor too

With 3D TV and PS eyetoy, 3D. head tracking is also supported.

I guess it is far to say. It only does everything lol.

I am interested to know what will they show in gamescon and TGS.

As far as graphics goes it has indeed evolved, but I do notice that the audio still leaves a lot to be desired from this series. A car with a V8 shouldn't have the sound of a vacuum cleaner on steroids for instance. ;)

Ah well, this series will still be good for those who love the series. :)

I remember playing the demo and thinking it looked awful, certainly nowhere near on the level displayed in that trailer. It just looked so bland before. Maybe it was my tv but it just seemed really ugly.

That looks immense though!
