PS3

We are still all waiting for Gran Turismo 5: Prologue here outside of Japan, so Sony tries to keep us occupied with these 8 new images. While they certainly look great, I still can't understand how it could take months to localize a racing game.

As usual for GT it looks very good. The drivers are very well done. Can't wait for the 5th part. But dunno if I'm gonna buy the Prologue... But you're right Blim, where the heck is it? Is a release date known?

In the Japanese version, you can't see motion blur in the first person view even in replays, and the images in those mirrors are way better too.

Don't get me wrong, the Japanese GT5P is the best looking racing game ever, still these shots are complete bullshots.

The cars and the drivers look great, but at what cost? The tracks and backgrounds seem mediocre at best.

I have Japanese version its graphically superb i think London is really nice car detail is superb.

Trees etc let it down on certain tracks tarmack is way more detailed then Forza 2 and PGR 4 tbh and with 16 cars on some tracks its smokes these games.

And dont get me wrong i like them games but you just cant say its on same level as GT5 Prologue after you played it. I would say though hope option to turn tire screeching off in full game because it really gets on nerves.

Also another thing lets it down i play 1080p and you dont see many jaggies in game but on menus etc you see quite few kind of lets it down but not much.

Silly ol' Yamauchi must've forgotten the most important aspect of racing games. I guess GT's dead.

Don't see much of a difference between PGR4 and GT5. Oh, wait, PGR is a full game.

There's NO doubt that it looks fantastic... but I'm getting tired of seeing the same few tracks and cars. I am 100% sold on GT5 but I'm really doubtful on Prologue. Somebody said 10 tracks- I thought it was 6. Did they increase it recently or is the number growing magically through gossip? And will the Prologue include the upgrading part of GT or just the basic stuff that was on the Concept demo? If I could tune the 30 or so cars from Prologue's list- I may be more tempted.

As much as it's gorgeous and stuff- I'm still a Forza man. I love customizing my cars paint jobs - but as GT is 'the daddy', I'll definitely come home again for a visit. Just maybe not with Prologue...

Edit: I just went to Kotaku on my next surf and hit this: http://kotaku.com/350057/gran-turismo-5-prologue-d...

So now we know. FYI- it's 5 tracks- reverse tracks included (so... 5 really- but 10 if you go backwards (which is not really 10 tracks....). But it does have 60 cars! That's cool. But no tuning mentioned. That pretty much rules me out. Bring on the whole game please.

Where is the evidence to support this? I don't see it, or haven't seen it. To be honest, I can't see anything touching PGR4 for sheer detail of the environments, as most of the time spent developing this game went into creating life-for-like locations. Argue all you like, GT5P or GT5 just will not look as detailed as BC's game.

It's not bad but when it comes to level of details it's not near PGR. If you stop av zoom in on the enviroment yoy see big diff.

But the thing is that the high level in PGR is not needed, racing goes to fast and you donät need suoer sharp enviroment. The level in GT seems perfect, looks good in speed.

I think they are timing the realse of Prologue with the release of DS3 to be honest, hence the long localization time.

It looks to me like the environments are just as detailed, if not more, than the environments in PGR4. That doesn't take away the fact that releasing a reasonably big demo for $40 is just plain retarded. I don't get this. Or actually I do get it but it's just so obvious that they're just squeezing every last penny out of this game. Don't people feel screwed by being charged 2/3 the price of a full game for a 2/9083098713298 finished game?
unbelievable but whatever. Maybe they should just focus on getting the real game done.

You say that like this is the first time there has been a Gran Turismo game not in the main franchise.
