I'm far from impressed. The world looks extremely empty if you ask me. DayZ all over. Don't get me wrong, I played a lot of DayZ but it was a free mod, not something I had to pay a ton of money for.

Meh. Graphics, animation, world, art style, everything is well below average here. Hell, there isn't even any dismemberment (zombie game without gore???)

I guess they figure it's the closest thing to Day Z on consoles, but still, I would rather play something like Dying Light. I'm really still hoping that Undead Labs decides to make a next gen sequel to State of Decay...Best zombie game I've played.

This should of been a PS4 only game not a PC game (does it not come out first on PC and PS4 later?) , PC already has DayZ and quite frankly this does not look as good and screams quick cash in. At least if it was on PS4 it would be something new!

the game is in alpha right now...

Planetside 2 is a very impressive looking game. IMO the best looking game on the market. Let them finish it first

A ton of money? Isn't it like $25? I know for a fact it is significantly less than at standard retail for PC games, so a ton of money is far from accurate.
Standalone is also not released, it's basically a beta at this point, so it's a weird case of it not having to be worth the money because theoretically people buying it are doing so on the promise of more things to come, as well as to support the thousands of hours people spent on the mod and standalone game.

Standalone is actually still in Alpha. ALOT of the game is broken or not at all implemented. Beta means feature complete. The world of H1Z1 does indeed look barren, but it will also be launching in Alpha as an early access game. And really, implementing props in the world is the easiest thing to remedy, So I wouldn't expect it to remain that way. It's the way it is because they are still working on fine tuning gameplay mechanics. If we're going to comment about games that are clearly labeled as early access titles we should all be clear on what the different development stages actually mean.

The reason why DayZ won a lot of people over was it's amazing player interaction and how they survived in such a massive world. I don't think i'll ever get that feeling again and i've been gaming a long time.

This on the other hand with it's cartoony graphics, it's run 'n' gun type arcade gameplay and the terrible animations of the z's (yes SA's are broken too) just looks like a cheap cash in for micro transactions. It's free and i'll give it a blast but tbh, judging from the various videos that are now up, it's no DayZ killer....

I know this is going to sound odd, but it really is a gripe of mine in these games that I feel ruins the immersion.

It's night time, it's cold. Why are people running around in t-shirts? I don't know how you'd introduce the dynamic of wrapping up warm for the evening, but it would make it more believable.

Sorry...

This is going to kill DayZ. What a piece of shit that is still. They haven't made any progress.
