Okay, calm down trolls. This is still- and this should be painfully obvious- extremely early build shots. The game is almost a year away from release. And in motion, it's gorgeous already.
Not this forge level... so... why they chose to release screen shots of a forge level is... really beyond me.

I did wonder myself; hardly the most flattering part of the game to put on display...
I have no clue why they would do that, honestly if i did not read the comments i would not have known this was Forge Mode. This really needed to be in video forms to show that instead of screen shots... People would think this is how the game actually looks like..
They have some great stuff planned for the MP for this game. There's one map in particular that will be awesome, it takes place on the exterior of a spaceship, so, gravity will be different and boosting will also be a bit of a hazard. Also the lighting for that map: wow. They're really working hard to bring back some glory to the series...we'll see if they pull it off.
It's still early so I'm hoping the graphics will get a serious boost. These screens are just okay. Shading is weird. AA and textures need work at some points and at other points they're fine. Character models seem like they're close (but not there yet) to being at the true next gen level. Could be the lighting model or just some bad screens.
I know graphics aren't the most important aspect of a game, but if a game has more than 5 iterations and the core gameplay barely changes then the next game better look gorgeous. It should crap diamonds. No excuse for mediocre graphics at this point.
These screenshots are from a forge level, no way they represent the quality of the game´s graphics. To me, Empire and Eden maps are very good looking and showcase interesting lighting.
The only big concern so far for me is the 720p resolution, hard to stomach when playing on a monitor.
