Images Xbox 360

Bungie released a bunch of new images for Halo Reach, whose multiplayer beta just ended a few days ago. Hopefully, we will find out more about the campaign mode at E3, in a bit more than two weeks now.

Just like K&L, how about some more detail on the description? Those are Beta Multiplayer (Photomode) Screens.

I have a bunch taken by me, if you people want some too.

Meh, still expecting more out of X360's biggest game since Halo 3. This engine was built from the ground up, has a massive budget straight from Microsoft's pockets, and more then likely has some of their best and brightest developers working on it. This should be 'the' game that defines what X360 is capable in terms of hardware and as of now it looks good without a doubt but not the best we have seen in the console world. I think E3 will solidify this 'opinion' with Crysis 2 in playable form and more then likely a KZ3 demonstration at the Sony press conference.

Well, we haven't seen any single player campaign yet. When it comes to multiplayer, I want fun over graphics.

In the campaign, yes I would like the graphics to be as polished and immersive as possible. We still haven't seen that aspect yet. Certain parts of the multiplayer maps look awesome, but you rarely have time to stop and look at them. I'm hoping that they capitalize on every one of those things for the single player campaign.

true..but you ahave to take into account what the focus is for each title. Crysis 2 isnt being developed with 4 player co-op in mind. And KZ3 is destined to be alot more linear in level structure.

Visuals are only part of the hardware being pushed..it's whats running in the background of that engine too. Halo3 is still extremely technically impressive.

Really amazing screens. The beta was incredible and damn near flawless after they fixed the servers the first day. I never had a hiccup or lag during my play time those weeks. I did see a lot of people dropping (either by quitting or getting kicked from the server) but the play was amazing.

And to Wheat_Thins comments. "meh"? really. That's pretty "thin", Thin. If you're "meh" these shots- you're a troll. Sorry, but that's a fact. If you're "meh"ing these screens, then praising a game you've yet to see at all or at least in motion... you're a troll. If you'd compare the actual PLAY of Halo Reach to a game that's never been played on consoles and another that came out on the competition's console- and was NOT well received for it's gameplay... sorta Troll-ish, isn't it?

Yeah, it's trollish. I thought so when I read the comment, and having personally slagged off on every Halo game ever made for legitimate issues in the franchise . . . never mind. Just, don't feed the trolls.

These screens are very good, I like the artistic view of them ( especially that one with the Energy Sword through smoke ). I'm more interested in the campain mode though.

Also, what's that thing in the 4th picture, in the sky?

Game looks fine graphics wise. While the beta, on a technical level, didn't have the same kind of wow factor that Crysis 2 has, it had awesome art direction which makes up for it. I certainly looked better than Halo 3. What I am worried about is if they actually tell an epic tale or if we will be left with a Halo 3 type letdown of a story. I'm putting my money down on this either way though.

They released these officially? Thats odd. They usually just show this weekly feature off on b.net.

Also, if Generator Defence (network test 1) is any indication, they're targetting 6 player co-op modes. Whether that means just firefight, or campaign as well, don't know.

I agree: some if not all of those look like campaign images, compared to earlier ViDoc's and press shots.

edit: In particular, I don't notice any emblems as multiplayer would have for each player. Sadly, if this is the best the series can do, I see the sun continuing to set on the franchise.

But on the other hand all of the MP maps are taken and modified from the SP ... And that's a FACT!

All you people demanding SP shots... you do realize that E3 is in two weeks...? That IS the place that we're going to get bombarded with SP shots... as promised by Bungie. All those companies blowing their load all over the internet the past few weeks... are killing their debuts for E3. I have NO understanding for that marketing idea. The whole point of E3 is to make a HUGE splash- so seeing the first shots of all these new games- now- weeks before E3- it pure and plain stupidity. Especially the WAY they've been doing it. Gears 3 on Jimmy Fallon??? LBP2 on Spike??? Now Killzone 3 on a few sites and some other big name just exposed itself a few weeks early. Anyway- I think it's important as hell to make a debut when all eyes are watching, like at E3. Doing on some small release scale is very anti-climatic.

Or maybe you're just a Halo fanboy that gets offended when somebody wonders why Halo does not look better then it does. As simply stated before this is 'THE' game that should define X360. It has everything going for it, talent, budget, people that know X360 hardware inside and out and have direct access to engineers if needed within Microsoft.

I'm sorry if you are offended but honestly this game should look better and be the defining title for what the X360 is capable of in terms of hardware. I'm in no means trying to detract from the fun factor of Halo as the Live stats back it up, but am more so disappointed after hearing the hype for 5 years about the superiority of X360 hardware and yet they will not deliver on that claim with their biggest game that has had an engine built from the ground up for the hardware.

?? I'd say there is a little projection going on there. The PS3 has been trumpeted as the super-amazing-superior-10-year-life-cycle console. The 360 has been defended against that sort of stuff(with only rabid fanboys going so far as to say the 360 is MORE powerful). Personally I WOULD say the PS3 has the edge, but is a bitch to program for( which is why 3rd party stuff suffers).
Reach certainly doesn't look bad. I'd go as far as to say it looks pretty darn GOOD. So what if it isn't looking the "best"- what a ridiculous argument. It's what goes on behind the scenes and the balance and playability that gets the talent's attention, and at the end of the day, I'd take that anyday. Would I like load-blowing visuals? Sure, but it get's the job done and we haven't seen SP yet...

I don't understand how they went from the first Halo, which was without question the best looking game ever made at that time, to the decline in visual prowess with each sequel. I'm really looking forward to E3 so I can see some single player shots, but they aren't going to be much better than the multiplayer. I don't think this is a lack of hardware power because I often see multiplatform games looking and running better on the 360. I think it's simply that they have either lost really good artists, or those artistic skills are falling behind the hardware capabilities of the 360.
I think if Crysis 2 comes out looking and running a bit better on the 360, yet another multiplatform game that is better on the xbox, then the PS3 power trip needs to truly be put to rest regardless of a couple of exclusive games winning awards for best console visuals. That came down to programming excellence and skilled artists, not hardware.
