Trailer is very deep and poetic. The quality also looks pretty good for a budget title, which has a bit of resemblance to Ryse i might say. the material and lighting quality however used in Ryse's environments are still Crytek's most expensive work yet, and is still considered a premium in today's games.

only Ninja Theory to make a duller and worthless gameplay effort than Ryse&TheOrder1889. It's like they learn nothin' after all these years of HSword crap buttonmashin'/block and Enslaved tiresome combos.

It looks great but not sure i like the voice effect. I feel like they could have made the demonic like voice sound a little more natural

I ve heard so many people shitting on the order for its gameplay many times but the order 1886's tps shooting mechanics were actually really good. The core gunplay was not the issue with the order's gameplay. Ryse i played recently and it has a decent hack and slash & evade sort of combat system but the lack of qte failure and lack of enemy variety made it boring very quickly.

the order was shit. a on rails useless repetitive and unimaginitive corridor gallery of same-same repetition of weapons/enemies and the most obnoxious terrible QTE and boss ever. it just had pretty vaseline smeared visuals. No one cared the day after, no one will care years after. the sequel is dead. it killed the developer.

I'll wait for some reviews on this. I've been watching all of the vidocs from the very first one. the only thing that still has me pretty skeptical is the major lack of character diversity. Once again i notice that Senua (and remnants of her) seems to be the only main character in most of the footage. makes me wonder how the game and it's reception will fare.

I don't think that's a big issue as the game is very focused on Senua and her personal journey. In the latest dev diary (No 28) they explain that they don't have the budget to do a cast of characters with the product values of Senua. For the other characters in the game they are doing some clever live action video tricks.

the developer was quite good. now see how downsied the developer resulted where they are (making merc job vr jank & shitty casual digital games) just because of bad decisions. here i'll say the guilt was all over the developer. In the case of someone like Evolution, who had a terrific job at redeeming their project (Driveclub) already fucked over by the shitty owner, Sony, with the launch game deadline, thet rewarded them with The Boot.

But its besides the point, NT never had sucess with they AAA production efforts that were always result of their pride of now wanting to go another route, they decided to do a "small indie kickstarter" project and not repeating the same mistakes, but alas... here we are, another totaily -AAA NT outpout all in all. In no way they kept the Indie vibe trought the project, they just copied Bloodforge (remember that game) and spent millions and millions uping the productions and not really making a decent new gameplay concept from the get go.

Love NT games and the premise of this one is intriguing. The trailers have been amazing but something still isn't grabbing me completely yet, it may be the depressing setting/ lack of color seen so far.

yhea, like its even in the same page of gameplay depth.

Uncharted maybe, but 2->4 has a lot of guplay mechanics added, and even the vertical/traversal gameplay is miles ahead of a corridor walking sim/basic cover shooter between constant cutscenes that is the order. the gameplay it has in no moment justified its existence. its a creative bankrupt/dull copycat game of a corridor shooter models that existed a decade before, and even then the mechanics were more exciting to play.

Actually they are recruiting for a new Triple A console game so it did not killed them.

I think the main character is fine, in a realistic way. they specifically didn't want any supper models to be the face of Senua for a reason.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAItFePn8S8

the game is meant to be very dark and grim, so the main character has to look rough.

I would have liked the artists to keep the model they made from scratch, but i guess this would have issues translating to realistic expressions. so they simply used an actress for realism.

Haha you must be new here then. Nostra shits on just about every single game ever mentioned on here, more so if it is something more PlayStation console related. Wait for all the hate even a game like TLOU Part II will be getting from nostra.
And most of the time the stuff he spews is hilariously inaccurate or something that doesn't feature in the game whatsoever, almost as if he didn't/isn't and will never play it.

you can translate facial mo-cap data to any model. the quantic dream real time tech demo of the sorcerer is a good example of that. i too wish they kept the original design. but i have a feeling they made the change to distance themselves a little more from kai and heavenly sword. because prior to the model swap the character looked a hell of a lot like an adult kai.

the games problems seem to extend well beyond that of the protagonist model though. combat doesn't look satisfying, and the parts in between look dull. i'm intrigued from a story point of view. but not enough to pay £25. if it gets a physical release i might bite, but even then i'm waiting for it to be £15.

You can translate facial motion capture data ton any model but its way more expensive and much harder to do. They don't have the budget or an animation team to do that so it was inevitable they would just use the actress face. I think her old design was more visually striking but it was so unrealistic and fantasy-like that it would look out of place for what they are going for with this game. She's supposed to be a Celtic warrior so the new costume fits much better as well. They also scanned the actress body for the new model btw

It´s not about great games with ugly characters, it´s about game being bad, because it has an ugly character. And saying, that something is ugly is strictly individual thing, so Your complain is a little pointless and so is this discussion.

My comment is not "pointless" at all. Search Wiki for Uncanny Valley. This is perfect example.

So it's not individual thing. This game will fail because of that.
