If you have an HDTV and you're interested in the game then yeah, a port is just what you need. The difference between playing a low res Xbox game and a high res Xbox game is tremendous, and you know as well as I do that's not the only thing that sets the versions apart.

Can't expect anything different, Dev's want to make a quick buck..

The only way you will stop then is if you don't buy them... spread the word ...

It's not like anyone is forcing you to buy it. If you don't care about enhanced graphics just buy it for Xbox, PS2 or PC. It's not a big deal.

We should be happy these things are happening I mean who cares about the port we don't have to buy them. I mean i'm not planning on buying this when I could be saving money for ninety ninety nine nights, blue dragon, gears of war, mass effect or too human :D

This ensures we are getting a healthy number of titles for the 360. Don't worry as they are doing this people are behind closed doors working on their multi threaded cry 2 type engines in order to use on these later games. As many will see in alot of dual core vs single core benchmarks sometimes there is no difference when the application isn't properly threaded. The single processor will even outperform the multi core cpu, but then when its properly threaded the advantage the multi core cpu has starts to show. I'm actually extremely happy with the current state of the 360. Practically NOTHING has been shown that has its own true engine for the 360.

Even if graw was built for the 360 there are still aspects of the game that had to be kept in check so it wasn't too different from the current gen versions of the game. They'll be coming soon guys don't worry. Even ninety nine nights is only using an upgraded kingdom under fire engine. We are in for a major treat guys just wait for it :)

It is a big deal, look at the amount of games that have been ported:
NFSMW
COD2
Kameo
FCIP
Oblivion
PDZ
Condemned
Quake 4
King kong
Madden NFL
FFXI
THAW
NBA 2K6
Burnout revenge
Godfather
X-men3
Blazing angels
BF2
Dynasty warriors (straight port, no upgrades)
Hitman: Blood money

There are loads more.

The only games that have been built from the ground up is
PGR3
Rumble roses XX (sexy but crap apparently)
outfit. (crap)
DOA4
Full auto (crap)
GR:AW

These games are slowing the 360's progress and is making me question why i bought this console if all there is are PS2/Xbox games with higher resolution. There have been more ports than 360 ground built games and it's not on.

Myro only about 1/3 of those lists are actually ported. Kameo and PDZ are only on 360 so how can they be ports? Get your facts straight please.

Myro: explain how PDZ Condemned and Kameo are ports. And what wrong with PC ports, such as COD2 and Oblivion. PC have some great games, mainly RPGs and FPSs. PC ports are what made Xbox stand out from PS2 and G'cube.

Sure companies are milking PS2 ports beyond belief, but you don't have to buy them. There's enough next gen games to keep us busy till the competition arrives:)

I think i'll wait for a truely next gen Hitman.

I think we have different understanding as to what a port it. A port would mean that the game was developed for a system, like PS2, than just polished up for a different system.

A lot of the games on his list were actually specifically made for the 360.

Kameo. It was planned for gamecube and then dropped. It was redeveloped for 360. PDZ was only planned for 360.

Who really cares that half the current Xbox 360 game's library are ports from other platforms. They all look better than any version anywhere else.

The idea is choice. So you can buy whatever version you want and still get a similar game. Just because they are ported doesn't mean the dev hasn't put effort into it. It doesn't mean that they aren't great games. Oblivion, as an example.

And btw guys, based on the list Myro just put forward, Halo was a port as well. Stop dissing.

Edit: Myro, if you're so displeased with the current state of Xbox 360 games fine, sell your 360. Save up for a new PC or the PS3 or Revolution. Otherwise, shut up, and wait.

Some of you act like a bunch of bitter jaded old men who need to be put out of their misery. Try enjoying your bloody games rather than sitting in front of your 14 inch Zenith tv complaining how bad some games look or how this one is a port and this one isn't.
Some of those games may be ports but I never once thought about it while playing PDZ, or Kameo, or COD2 or Oblivion.
