Lionhead Studios are each week answering questions about Fable 2 that they get in their mailbox, and this week they showed some in-game rendered images of a Hobbe. You can read their short comments about the images in the link above or in the news.
Lionhead Studios comments the images with:
The latest two renders with the armour are rendered entirely with in-game models and textures, and also use the specular and normal maps . They are rendered in XSI (purely because it's a lot easier and quicker to get the exact pose and camera angle you need).
With regards to more depth - there is certainly a lot more this time around. Infact, I'd go so far to say that this really is the tip of the iceberg :-)

And very detailed for a hobbe!
Cant wait for the game it self....
you just want to boot them init...
This cannot come soon enough. I like the fact that you can now jump over fences and explore properly (which was supposed to be a feature in the original Fable).
Man, the shoe as a hat killed me!
Other than that, I'm really phsyched for this one. Can't fucking wait!
LOL. I see normal map, but no specular map. Why the dev lie?

No it's not that bright but as I said before this is more than enough detail for a Hobbe.

It's needs more than just specularity. It needs specular glossiness so that the skin looks like it's not made of carpet or like a big, ugly RUG. It looks horrible right now. As an experienced shader artist, that's what I Think anyway.
