Tonight at 2pm PT / 10pm PST / 11pm CET, Sony will release 14 minutes of gameplay from Horizon Forbidden West, captured on PlayStation 5. You can follow this presentation right here, thanks to the YouTube player.

Simply amazing. Heavily scripted but meh whatever. Game simply looked amazing visually. Guerrilla Games does this every time out it seems. You can see the improvements in the melee combat. The physics improved and the traversing looks better. So much little details here visually. Im stoked.

Looks great but I still feel that it’s holding back because of crossgen like often no footsteps and the hair clips through the bow…
I guess Sony is no longer willing to send you uncompressed footage right? So YouTube only

Looks like the same engine with a few tweaks and changes here and there. Since it's also on PS4 I'd wager they'll both look pretty similar but with the PS5 ver just having the settings higher, higher lod, shadows, draw distance, texture res etc. and 60fps of course.

Wonder if there will be a 4k60 mode as the standard but then a 1440p60 mode with RT reflections and other enhancements. Even in the crappy youtube compressed video you can see lod changes in places. I always hate that, it shouldn't be noticeable. I've seen games do a sort of dithered/faded lod change and it makes it a lot less noticeable.

The LoD is hardly noticable. There a couple of occassions where it is obvious, which considering where it happens is probably just bugs. Otherwise, it has superb LoD. The streaming tech is awesome considering how much detail the scenes have. You can watch a comparison with the first game here. Very nice upgrade. It's actually not as scripted as it looks. A lot of it was simply in how the player was operating the camera to get some of those hero shots, and also, the destructible environment is actually not scripted. I totally forgot but even the first game had some of that. It reminds me of some of the more epic linear story missions that the first game had. I like that formula so I'm glad they're sticking with it

Aw man. That's awful. Youtube 4k can be a giant step up from 1080p or even 1440p (assuming they upload the max 30 Mbps bitrate instead of 15 like netflix and crap) but still pales in comparison to what the game will actually look like. Guess we'll just have to wait for the game to be out to see what they really look like
