Multiplayer bounty hunting game Hunt: Showdown is available on Steam Early Acces since yesterday for $29.99. Currently, Crytek's title features four Bounty Hunt missions taking place in the 1 km² map. Random missions and two boss target missions will be added later. Unnecessary monsters but i guess programming a dumb monster ai is easier than a good bot ai

my rig met all the "recommended" requirements of this bug-ridden game, yet it ran like a piece of turd, couldn't find a partner and did not enjoy my experience during the alpha test. It's rather embarrassing for a game with only one map to run so poorly on high-end PCs.

Performance wise it's a lot better since going to EA from the alpha build but for me t still needs a lot of optimising. I went for it last night as I've had funds sat in my steam wallet for months and even though it's very slow paced at times it's a welcome break from being annihilated on Tarkov.

Every where you go is just death ridden. Horses laying there half dead trying to get up, monsters and women screaming and bodies littered across the map they definitely caught the mood perfectly. Is it going to be a game ill be playing months down the line? That I don't know :/

On a sandbox game I usually check the map size but on this I didn't. Atm it doesn't feel small but then again I haven't played it enough to fully notice. With it being swampland it takes a while to traverse it so that kinda makes it bigger than what it probably is.

That's the size of *one square* of PUBG's map so it sounds small, but maybe it's not accurate.

I doubt if much has changed since the alpha, given that it launched into early access after a week or two. this game cannot afford to remain unpotimised for long, it's a online multiplayer game after all.

I heard that the game is already performing much better since the early access release (i mean even after early access, one update made performance much better) I don't have the game but people told me (yesterday) it was very playable with a 1070

What does 'playable' mean? And a 1070 is not a common card. It's at least 650 euro here. So 'playable' doesn't mean much in terms of performance.

Are you on the fence looking to buy this droe?

I'm on holiday atm, but really excited to give it a try when I get back. This game has been on my radar since I first saw it. I really hope it's not another Evolve. :(

Tried it with a friend of mine, we played about 8 games in it and then decided to get a refund on it.. it's simply not worth 30 euro right now.. Way to unoptimized right now and only 2 maps (day and night version) and the gameplay is also very limited.. It looks fun at first but almost every single game we played ended in a annoying fight with other hunters around the boss area.. Where people just camp the boss in wait to kill you.. Very lame and not fun.. So yeah, refunded, maybe we'll check it out later again when it's way more polished etc..
