I honestly believe there's no such thing as Duke Nuken Forever. It's gotta be one of the longest running pranks out there.

I Bet a meal with 3DRealms that their game won't even have a proper "presentation" in 2009, much less a solid release date.

Odds are on me, vaporware with them : D

You may actually have something there as it was first officially announced in April 1997. (Seriously!) I wonder if it was on the 1st of April? Lol! Maybe it will go on sale for 1 day only, the 1st of April 2009, and if you buy it and put the disc in you'll just get message "FOOLED YOU!" on screen in big flashing letters with Duke running around in the background chanting "Nah nah na nah nah!" and blowing rasberries, LMAO!

Not really. Duke had a much more cartoony/comic sorta feel to it than this. I don't mind much though, so long as the humor is intact it's all good.

The game is not a hoax. It does exist. The two lead devs are just two lazy bastards that need to pull the thumb out to complete it and get it out there. There is playable code of this game, and that's a fact. It's clearly using UE 3 technology to power it, so it's no wonder the models are reminding people of Gears. I seriously hope they don't put it back to the drawing board again once they realize they missed the boat in the form of a whole generation and do the same thing with a brand new engine all over again like they have been since 19-90-fucking-o-plonk. I mean, Too Human has been 10 years in the making, and it's getting a release date. Or has it? I mean, 3d Realms need to seriously slap themselves. If they get this game right, then they have an absolutely massive hit on their hands based on the mysterious hype over the years alone.

They managed to release Prey which had a similar delay, so this "might" happen as well. Chance that it will happen are slim though. Let's hope they do ...

They stated in an interview that this is the final engine and they won't be switching to another one again.

And I've been worried all this time that the game will lose what made Duke 3D so great, but it's cool to see some of the old enemies are returning. From left to right is what I think is the octabrain, battlelord, cycloid emperor, assault trooper, pig "cop", and liz trooper.

I'm going to have to agree with you on that.

I'll wait till there is an actual demo in my hands before I believe it, even then I'll still be skeptical.

It would almost be more awesome if it was just the longest running gag ever than having the real game :0

They don't use UE3.

I'm certain that this would be more awesome than some run and gun shooter DNF is going to be.

Duke was never about the graphics.... it was about the atmosphere and dark humor. If that is still as good as it used to be, I'm sold.

I wouldn't expect much of the younger audience to understand, who probably didn't play Duke3D when it was new. That still remains to be one of my all time favorites, even if it doesn't quite stand up to the test of time when going back to it (mainly just the controls are dated now).

For me is it's fresh gameplay additions ( every gun is awesome and Fun ) and Genius Level Design.

In the first level if i'm not mistaken, you can spawn to the the alien ground corridor, if you find a hidden part. it was ahead for it's time.
Makes em wanna play Duke3D XBLA.

I'm really sad about all this vaporware thing, and you cound't find a guy that faped more to the 2001 trailer than me, but this is too much. 3 Generation Version of the Game exposed and promises of "it's soon" with single imagens is just too much, for a decade of waiting.
At least say you canceled the thing before this HD Console version goes under again, and in 2015 comes a new image of a new version of the game for the Xbox 720/Pc, or wathever.

This is not the same thing as Prey. They stopped developing Prey after a few years and then the whole project was sourced to Human Head Studios. HHS actually started and finished the project with little of the original content left. So despite people thinking it was actually under development for almost 8 years, the finished product probably didn't take more than 2 years or so to develop.

And just like Prey the game that will be released here has not been in one consistent development cycle for 10+ years. The game that 3D Realms releases will have been in development for far fewer than that. This game will feature just as little of the content that we saw back in 2001 as the final release of Prey did.
