Bello!
they said the X06 build may well have the self shadowing switched on.. will xboxyde.com be at X06 to get us some great video coverage?
Reflections have this nasty aliasing, and the road textures look very average. Other than that, the game doesn't have self shadowing, the lighting is still kind of bland, and it's not yet running at 60fps. On another note, the point to point races have been removed so we are basically going to have the same amount of tracks as in the first Forza...........AND on top of all that, it has been delayed to the first quarter of 2007. So yes, it's all bad news.
Well, ONE good bit of news. A demo will be released on Live.......until the holidays, whenever that is.
Before judgeing, I'll wait to see it in motion.
Of course, the interior makes the model look a whole lot better, but the exterior is still looking better in PGR3.
It indeed looks better and better. And about the cars polygoncount, that's about on the same level as PGR3 ;) 40k for the outside. PGR3 had this also ~40k outside and 40k for the inside.
Anyway, in direct feeds PGR3 looks about the same, so I think this will end up on par with PGR3.
And remember this is 720p @ 60fps, while PGR3 was 600p and 30 FPS.
no self shadowing, no AA, no 3d grass
Alan Wake is at the top of my list.

makes total sense anyway the whole of the gaming press will be focusing on MS at X06..

The game is still far from complete and will look stunning when finished. I hope, after the panic that we saw upon the release of the first screenshots that they hold back a demo until this game is 100% complete, it seems that the average game isn't ready for anything else.
Game journalists are given access to preview builds because they understand not to make knee jerk reactions based on unfinished work. If I were part of the Forza team, no way would I let the general public near an unfinished preview after the crap they had to endure a few weeks ago.
Pics look good BTW, and there's still plenty of time for polish.

aside from the jaggies and the tires, this looks pretty good. weird camera angle IMO...
Though, SD users could get to enjoy supersampling like that. As far as I understood PGR3 renders at a higher res then downscales for SD and superimposes the gui over the image. (native res is same for both SD and HD, as in neither.. a compromise of 1024x600)
So with that logic, when cinema hd 4048xnnnn resolution hits gaming, we hobos with our 1080p "HD" can get to enjoy downscaled supersampling :D
Though there are some ways Turn10 can tidy up the reflections, but all of those methods involve making them blurrier and less precise.
