Eidos just released the first screennshot of Tomb Raider: Anniversary. The game will be a remake of the first Tomb Raider and will benefit from the advances of Tomb Raider Legend. Concerning the levels, it will feature the best moments of Tomb Raider 1, as well as brand new levels. Release date planned somewhere in 2007, only on PC, PS2 and PSP for the moment.

This one won't be a best seller... -_-'

pay full price for an ancient game...
(that is if it come to the 360)
If it doesn't cost to much maybe i'll buy it.
I hope every 360 game makes it to PS3. It's only fair, right? </sarcasm>
This game is a quick cash-in for current-gen consoles. Eidos already has a game engine up an' running (TR: Legends). The installed base for next-gen consoles is too small to justify the expense of porting the game (and PS3 owners can play the PS2 game thanks to BC). I'm well aware that Legends was a launch title for 360, but it probably didn't sell very well (compared to the current-gen platforms). And with action-adventure games like Lost Planet on the horizon, why would 360 owners settle for a PS2/PC port that doesn't take advantage of the more powerful hardware?
I duno if i would pay full price for it though, Legends was pretty good, so unless it come to the 360 as well i doubt i'll get it.

"And nope, there's no Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 version. Lara's next-generation escapades have been saved for the sequel to Tomb Raider: Legend, which apparently won't arrive until sometime in 2008."

i LOVED the original Tomb Raider and i would buy it for sure, but i am not getting a ps3, so i really REALLY would like to see this come over
I agree that Edios are missing a big chance, especially on the PS3 as they haven't seen a next gen Lara yet.. (saying that nor has the 360 *sniggers*)

On the other hand, Sony's still making slimline PS2's. And there's over 100 million of them in circulation compared to the ~25 million Xbox's worldwide. Eidos' decision to bring the game to PS2 is basic common sense.

As JediMasterMalik said, a lot of those Xbox owners are now 360 owners. And Eidos is planning a full-fledged sequel on next-gen consoles; it's scheduled for a 2008 release.
