Xbox 360 PS3

Monolith releases the first screenshots of Condemned 2. Graphically, it looks a lot like the first one, but if it's also as good, it should be sufficient enough.

What do you mean by complex? It's an FPS not much you can do in turns of complexity. If you mean linear I can understand, than again it is one of those games that focus more on the story and game play rather than it's surroundings. Anyway, can't wait for this I love Monolith, both Fear and Condemned were great games.

I thin he means that the fight system is more complex as well the "C.S.I" part of the game as well. And according to an interview over at IGN the game has much better fighting system and game is more open ended in terms how you investige a murder scene, witch is nice.

Really awesome. I loved the first chapter and this one looks very promising. I really hope they polish the engine enough to achieve a constant framerate. Hopefully PS3 owners will will enjoy this one.

So this game's definitely coming to PS3?

Sometimes I get the feeling they announce these games for PS3, only to be able to say later on that they've cancelled the PS3 version.

With E3 'round the corner, perhaps they'll release some info on Silent Hill 5. If you couldn't tell from the handle, I'm a big time SH fanboy.

No, that's not what happens.

What happens is that they build it around the more simple architect of X360 and then try to port it to something complicated like the PS3 and then it turns out to be choppy or has bad textures etc and then everyone claims X360 is more powerful than PS3 because it runs games better lol

I loved Condemned1 on PC (despite it running a bit crappy lol) so I'm looking forward to this although these shots make me feel like Condemned1.5 but since it was a such a short game maybe I won't mind....Remember, I said maybe.

with more interesting games to play, this won't be as impressive if it's kept too samey.

And this is a game from Nintendo. Heh.

But somehow I think the FEAR engine derivant just cant ever deliver in the magnitudes of UE3. Oh well.

This'd be the one kind of game where linearity I'd consider a plus. Freedom's all good and well- but I'd hate to mess up the carefully crafted atmosphere by doing it 'wrong.'

Pics don't impress me too much graphically- but Condemned was good enough to keep me interested in the sequal.

Well, I wish they wouldn't bother...

The Darkness looks to offer a similar sort of atmosphere and the devs seem competent enough with PS3 hardware.

I agree with JokerAR. Too much freedom in game where you spent most of your time indoors and where atmosphere is everything will result in failure/possible headache from wandering around in huge building.

part 1 was WWWWAAAAYYYY too linear.

There would be a room with 5 doors, but only on 1 door it would have "press A to open doo". The others would have no action at all and it woud just be like it's a wall. It was basically spoon feeding you where to go.

if this game is going to be like that, there is no way in hell I will touch it.

I do hate how people keep going on about the UE3 like it's the holy grail or something. That engine was developed roughly 3 years ago now. It's seriously obsolete now and there are egines being made now and yesteryear that are far more powerful than it. How can we expect games on these consoles to improve visually the way they are meant to if everyone just keeps bragging on about how great Unreal Engine 3 is and how if anything isn't using it, then it's not that great. Unreal Engine 3 is OLD. Get over it, people!

Well first off, it's not an FPS (a majority of the game is spent in melee combat, shooting is completely optional). But secondly, there are ways to make it much more complex: Breakdown was a good example of how you can have a detailed melee fighting system from first person. More options for fighting would be quite welcome, since the first one was basically stun, bash, block, bash, bash, block, bash, bash, stun, etc.

Still, it was a good game, so hopefully the second will be even better.

He's got the wrong Monolith. The Monolith he speaks of makes JRPGs and the like, games like Baten Kaitos.
