Images PS3

Tecmo / Koei released these 6 new images of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 showing the coop mode in action. As usual these are obvious bullshots, but the game itself is still quite good looking.

..next thing to do is to remove (post capturing) all screen tearing from your in-game movies with advanced software tools and release them as "real in-game movies". Sooner or later these practices will violate certain customer laws (in Europe).

Bottom line: gamers should be kept informed about the post-processing of certain media (especially when released as "the real thing").

Yeah, i forgot... Where's Sath? Co-op images is what he has been waiting for all along. Actually i don't think NG was made for cooperation (or any ninja game for that matter), but its still something i was dying too see how it would turn out. And i'm still dying to see it lol, this are just screens, i wan't a video!

Is coop new to the PS3 version? Better said, is it exclusive for NGS2, or is it present in NG2 as well?

I agree with that, though I also agree that a screenshot is better to look at when it's not all jagged out.

Co-op is a new mode in any NG title and all the content that is in Sigma 2 is PS3 exclusive.
They are going to show another mode, secret mode that is also new, but they haven't hinted at what it is.
Expect co-op footage up online soon, or by the end of this month.

This is how co-op works.

As expected, there is "Ultimate Ninpo" (watch GDC trailer) were both players use ninpo at the same time to unleash one big ninpo.
When a partner dies, its game over. If your partner or you is low on health you will need to be rescued, just like one of the images shows Momiji on the ground and Ryu is close by.
Below your health is your partners health, and I assume samething goes with the ninpo slots because theres two. One big (yours) and one small (your partners).

But as a hardcore NG fan, I can't wait to buy this.
Looks beautiful and plays beautiful...hopefully they have managed to fix those bad issues like enemy AI and enemy attacks and framerate and glitches from NG2, then it's all good.

One thing, Team NINJA will announce the EU/US release date this month and release a demo in September, just a heads up.

Looking sharp. Especially since Team Ninja have gotten NGS2 to run at 720p native rather than the inexcusable lower resolution of the original NG2, which is quite important (especially on the PS3 where a subHD resolution coupled with quincunx makes for a blurry game). Itagaki can badmouth his former Team Ninja colleagues all he wants, but they really do work hard.

Well, DigitalFoundary has new tech to do just that (only more easily)! But that is seriously one of the requirements for putting video on XBL and I'm sure is one for PSN. The video has to be V-synced. But that's why Team Ninja is releasing a demo in September! You can see how it really looks if you want.

How can you quantify hard work on a game that is already a "content done" p0rt?

All thats done is the expected, remains to see if the hard work is done (frame-rate, etc, etc) or it just pure butchering the original content (gore vs. purple fairy powder) witn no real improvents instead of the sparks and wonders of the new side missions.

I have seen some improvements from NG2 to NGS2. I have yet to see IS spamming on any levels were even on level one in NG2 IS spamming was a gift to you for buying it :P

Camera seems a bit better, visuals are better too.

But difficaulty and lag and glitches are what I want to see improved and polished.

About the blood vs the essence mist, its a new and fresh look of things for NG franchise.
Even though I prefer the gore, I welcome new ideas to evolve NG further, visually and gameplay and the essence mist for Sigma 2 does look pretty flashy, especially with all the blossoms falling down from the trees, as a great colorful atmosphere.

I was about to say the same thing and its not just them, most developers are doing that these days. It's not just that they use anti-aliasing. What it is is they do a really high resolution render and then they resize it down to the 720p format the game will use and call it a screenshot. As if a native 720p image could ever look like that.

There are very few devs that actually release pics that are a representative of how the game play looks like. That said I don't see a reason why it has to be pointed out in this case. The game doesn't look much better than NG2... which looked very medicore when it arrived last year.

But that all is not bothering me. It is that essentially NG2 was pure ASS compared to NGB, I can't see it changing here with a few extras, cause the basics are still the same. The only selling point they emphasize are the ninja whores they have now. No matter how much I like Ayane (or because I do very much) I wouldn't want to play her in that appearance.

@Viginti_Tres, we had a discussion lately in the Forza article, you said you don't own a PS3.

- if you don't own a PS3 why do you bother posting and bashing this game? cause its on the system you don't own?

- and this Game is a totally remake it have many additional features like coop and 3 playble character and every character has a story that blends perfectly with Ryu's story.

here is a Kutako Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Impression,

http://kotaku.com/5280179/ninja-gaiden-sigma-2-imp...

KOTAKU: Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is a remake of Ninja Gaiden II, first released around a year ago on the 360, only this time it's bound for the PlayStation 3. It has a few new game modes (including online co-op), new characters and a whole range of fixes for the problems that plagued the 360 edition.

Firstly, and most importantly, the camera has been vastly improved over NG2's shoddy system (which was the main reason I never really got into the 360 game). No longer will it get stuck behind walls, or lag too slowly behind your character; it's crisp, maintains a constant following distance and zooms in and out of the action smoothly.

Also improved are the game's visuals. This looks better than the 360 edition. Cleaner textures, better effects, that sort of thing.

exactly i can accept bullshots since screenshots so often dont do a game justice but at least watermark in the corner what has been done to the image so we have an idea how much the image has been doctored.

Game looks beautiful, only issue with the first sigma was the baked on lighting which marred an otherwise pretty and smooth(60fps) game.

You're projecting your own mindset on me, I'm not you. I bash NG because it's NG. Next to Halo it was my favorite game on the original Xbox (hell I even bought it a second time on the marketplace so I could run it from the HDD of the 360). I'd like to see Tecmo produce good titles but what they have done this gen is just run down the whole franchise around the DOA universe.

They shouldn't do a remake of a bad game but get their lazy asses up, take a step back and do a new one. I don't expect you to understand 'cause, omg, look it's better than the 360 version!

I don't understand lol

The only new main feature in NG2 were obligeration techniques and.....yes, nohthing else.
NG2 plays exactly like NG1(B). The action, the ninja atmosphere, the gameplay. Everything is also present in NG2 (yes, even the crappy story ) ..and now in NGS2.
Isn't it something that fans want from their games/franchises? - new elements without destroying the original game (?) Look at Halo 3. Just minor changes like equipment-items, 4 player Coop mode and some other little things. The game looks like Halo, it plays like Halo and it's just goddamn fun to play.
Same with Ninja Gaiden 2.

SIGMA 2 looks great and it plays great, just like NG2. Giving a great game even more great features isn't something I would call "lazy". For me as a fan, it's a gift.

Wow! I thought that was pretty smart to do. DOA has good characters with different styles (although I hate Zack).. Using the characters was a good idea imho. The characters are recognizable, have different backgrounds, are already done.. What I don't like is that it seems that the characters could've been improved. Not that much graphical improvement from xbox1. Nevertheless, from branding and marketing perspective this was a good move by them. If you don't like the universe, maybe it's not the developer for you?
