Images Xbox 360

Microsoft released these new images of Crackdown 2, planned for release in 2010 on Xbox 360. The first game was really a nice surprise and we really hope the sequel will hold its promises.

Some of them look really good while the others are flat out disastrous.

I suppose most of the tech was put into the explosions. I can't really understand why developers don't use cell shading to their advantage to create more compelling games that involve more character development and NPC interactivity. After seeing Dragon Ball Z Raging Blast, I was convinced that games can look just as good as hand drawn animation. This game is okay I guess, but it's not exactly story driven. Grand Theft seems to master the open world of gaming more. Well Grand Theft Auto IV that is.

Played some games today that have that cheap pop-out from screen of shadows of trees and objects when the player starts to go away from them. Loving to see them all there in the third shot, here.

The game is a geometry monster only beaten by GTAIV Engine... just remembering the weak infamous and its extremely cheap usage of fog technique to lower gaming geometry, makes me apreciate much more crakdown's "I can see my house from here, Agent!"

I never got into the Co-Op seriously. I almost finished the game by the time i tried and only used a Co-Op buddie to help doing some acheivements. Never even did those bomb co-op missions.

The shooting it's pretty much lock-on and straithforward to be (IMO) THAT fun in multiplayer, but I'm kinda excited with the idea of battling against other people in crackdown's mechanics with this sequel.

i loved the first game to bits, one of the best 360 offerings imo. but the fact this is set in the exact same city is a major downer for me. hopefully they can make it feel more new then volition managed to do with saints row 2.

Well we know there are at least nine big underground areas the size of the refinery from the original game.

Ugly, ugly, ugly. Assassin's Creed 2 may not be perfect looking, but as an open world game is absolutely generations beyond this ugly mess.

More like someone who never played the original, went to the top of the Agency tower and saw the keys of the city in action with assplosions non-stop, to know what he is talking about.

So yes, a troll trolling seems about right. : )

I loved the first but... damn, couldn't they have given the game a bit more of a graphical update? Graphics are showing their age.

There is quite an upgrade in details, just not on all objects it seems. Could be quite inconsistent in art direction I fear. Better lighting would do wonders for the game, but for this type I prefer the incredible draw distance.

Anyway, this game is bought the moment it was announced. ... and GTA got nothing on Crackdown. Hands down one of my top 3 on the Box.

It looks to me like they've tried to make the graphics more gritty and realistic, which seems counter-productive to me.

Just makes the whole thing look like a mess, a bit like Prototype which was one of the first games to actually annoy me because of how ugly it was.

Personally I think they should've pushed the cell-shading and gone for an even more original look.

Still, it could just be that I'm remembering the first one too fondly.

Even if the game turns out to be not-so-great, I'll at least rent it for the orb collecting. Man that was so damn addicting in the first game.

With the right additions I can see this game being pretty fun, especially the co-op aspect, which is what made the otherwise lame Saints Row 2 so much fun for me. When you do co-op right, it really does turn an ok game into a really great game. I hope Crackdown 2 does co-op right. My biggest worry is just that in the first game when I played co-op online either me or my bro would constantly get kicked off. I really hope they fixed this issue.

As for the graphics, nothing special but I like cell-shaded graphics enough that it will stay visually interesting for me.

So will this come with the Halo Reach beta? lol...

What has happened to gamers? It seems that every post on any page is about the graphics. Is that all that matters? Whatever happened to just enjoying the game and not caring how pretty it looks. Now dont get me wrong, I enjoy good looking games, but that comes way after gameplay/fun factor.

Haha alrighty then perhaps you are blind or something or need a eye surgery because there is no way that t his game looks ugly why? because the looks of it its intentional like Prince of Persia,Borderlands you know those games well this are a different type of graphics and they are beautifull and more appealling to me than say Uncharted 2,Gears of War, and the games with super awesome graphics.

Lets just say you dont like them thats all no need to say the are ugly because they are not to some people.

Oh and Im not ofended far from it.

technically speaking it is pretty ugly tbh. no dynamic lighting (done to alow for uber view distances) low poly character models, sparse environments, low as hell resolution testures all over the place. it's an ugly looking game alright....but who cares when crackdown was so damn fun.

as i said, the proof is whether they can make the same city feel unique. if not i'm not going to bother.

Like I say if it is ugly to you well to each its own but I find it in no way ugly,I will make an example here I get tired and bored if I play CoD4,Gears for a total of 2,3 hours max but when I play Crackdown I can go it all day and its part for the graphics especifically I just love the way they are, much more appealing to me than those games and I thank God I dont even know what are you talking with this ---> "no dynamic lighting (done to alow for uber view distances) low poly character models, sparse environments, low as hell resolution testures all over the place" I seriously dont know what those things are and I dont care I love the way the game looks.

Are they sure this is a sequel? Looks like a simple zombie mod or expansion. I already decided to pass once I saw Realtime Worlds wasn't the devs. It's going to suck.

so you like the art style, that's perfectly fine, we arnt discussing the art, we're discussing the graphics, and they arnt up to the standard of most games. that isnt subjective, that just the way it is. the only thing the game has going for it visually is the amount of characters on screen and the view distence. everything else is decidedly sub-par.
