Wii

No, not of the famous novelist as such, but the videogame adaptation of one major book with Agatha Christie: And Then There Were None (10 little niggers) for the Nintendo Wii. Set in the adventure genre, the game has already been released for the PC in 2005 with an point & click interface. The Wiimote will be used to dig and do other little actions.

Just to avoid confusion: "10 little niggers" was the original title when first published in the UK. The book was published in America under the new title for obvious reasons. (racial slur)

What was the original titles meaning? That would help clear out any confusion left. If it means the same thing as it does in america I think this was just a bad idea.

About the title...

And Then There Were None is a work of detective fiction by Agatha Christie and first published in the UK by the Collins Crime Club in November 1939 under the title of Ten Little Niggers [1] and in US by Dodd, Mead and Company in 1940 under the title of And Then There Were None. The UK edition retailed at seven shillings and sixpence (7/6d). A paperback edition in the US by Pocket books in 1965 changed the title again to Ten Little Indians. It is Christie's best-selling novel with 100 million sales to date.

The novel was originally published in Britain under the title Ten Little Niggers in 1939.[1][2] All references to "Indian" in the story were originally "Nigger": thus the island was called "Nigger Island"[1] rather than "Indian Island" and the poem found by each murder victim was also called Ten Little Niggers[1] rather than Ten Little Indians.

Untill today there is still discussions if Agatha Christie was accualy xenophobic, racist or anti-racist...

Not really debate for this website I would say :)

i actually knew that..the infamous nature of the original title may end up causing some extra publicity ..but then again ALL publicity is GOOD publicity! Good call on deciding to post the "true" title.

Wow, Kudgel - you're brave posting that, many narrow minded people would have read that and screamed the racism card without first looking into what you were reffering too.

Haha wow the shock of reading that I thought it was a prank by some hacker or disgruntled Gamersyde employee.

Glad to see an adventure game on the Wii hopefully many more are to come. Maybe the Wii will spark an adventure gaming renaissance. One can dream... One can dream...

still wondering what was even the purpose of putting that anyway considering it was never called that in america and the game certainly won't be called that. guess it was clarification for all the viewers of this site that grew up in the 1940s

@quaasheezy
It's still known under similiar to original name in my country (without negative meaning)
No black people in Eastern Europe = no racism and the word used isn't derogatory.
There are however different 'bad' words....

This has got to have pre-rendered backgrounds, right? Seriously, this looks REALLY good for the Wii, too good in fact.
