PC Xbox 360 PS3

Codemasters released these 2 images of Operation Flashpoint 2, a game that seemingly can't decide between looking good or bad.

looks rather nice, I'm just hoping they keep the "sim" aspect of the series otherwise it will probs be ARMA 2 for me (the 1st admitedly is a bugfest).

Any word on a mission editor, similar to the one in the fist game, this time around?

people need to remember OPF2 is not the second OPF, ARMA2 is technically the second OPF as the OPF team is doing ARMA2, god knows what happened to the old ARMA1 team lol

About the graphics: they should have applied a (better) depth-of-field or focus filter. Now (pic 2) trees in the distance are as sharp as near objects... this could have been done better. I hate it when everything is evenly sharp in games.

Technically the game is now officially called Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising without the '2'. Neither games are actually sequels to the first Operation Flashpoint, just games in the same spirit of that franchise.

Also no mission editor yet for the console versions, its been confirmed only for the pc version.

This is the OF I used to admire! Hopefully they'll continue on this path and deliver a great game, not only on the graphics part, but also in terms of gameplay!

Unless you played the original Czech version of ArmA after release, you have no idea...

The effect you speak of is nice only to disguise certain objects, or to shift the focus on a particular object to make it look "nice". However, it's not very realistic, especially if you want to convey realism in your game. I'd much prefere things stayed pin-sharp at a distance, rather than have a filter muddy things out and have your eye straining to see if the dot on the horizon is actually an ememy soldier or a rock. You know what I'm saying?
