Wii

World champion of originality not only with its meaningful title but also with deep content, Deca Sports offers ten different sports (who would have guessed?) on one amazing game disc ; archery, badminton, basketball, curling, karting, skating, snowboard, soccer and volleyball. This exclusive Nintendo Wii videogame is developed by Hudson Soft and awaited with high expectations this summer 2008 in North America.

You all know what i think about the wii by now so no point in me whining about it. I have to say this obvious ripoff of Wii Sports made me laugh though. It's so obvious it's painful.

Could see the potential if the game had/has online... without it, it's just a party pile of shi*.

Shi* that sells gazzillions to soccer moms. Cruel World.

When you see games like Smash and Galaxy then Deca Sports, you see how lazy and cash-oriented most developers are on the Wii. Hire me, I'll create real games, not crap that has been done a gazillion times. I have concept ideas on paper too. A game set in the French Inquisition era? Never been done. There are plenty of great ways to please gamers, but we won't talk about this in the future I can tell ya. Sports games are...boring.

I always find it amazing how horrid the character art is in these non-Nintendo 'casual' Wii games. Nintendo knows how to make characters look generic and non-thought provoking without looking ridiculously childish and stupid.

Concept ideas? I think every gamer has them. Exactly what would you do? Dictate to artists and programmers what to make? Are any of these ideas marketable? How much will they cost to make?

Yea, everyone has dreams, but there ARE reasons things are the way they are...

Just read up on some game design theory and you'll probably notice that plenty of commercial games are way behind on it. Then again i think that many gamers who are all like "i'd make a better game than that in 5 minutes if i knew how to program!" are just artards who wouldn't even know how to go about writing a design document worthy of it's name. You can't just go "and then we throw in some enemies and cool combos and what not and it will be SO amazing!" because that will result in a big pile of steaming excrement.

I've been in on a couple of amateur game projects and tbh it's much harder than you might think, even when it's a simple game like a 2d platformer. You need the enemies to behave in a good way, you need level design that keeps feeling fresh and increasingly challenging and you need to introduce new elements into the game so that the player doesn't get bored and you have to balance all these things out in a way that makes for an interesting game and not just chucking all your "cool" ideas in to a big pile and hope for people to love it. Making a game takes a LOT of planning and preparation....unless you are deving for the wii obviously, then you just copy-paste code from wii sports and replace the miis with slightly more generic avatars.

God...how did i even end up writing that? :P

*rattles on the bars of his cage* " PLEASE WE BEG YOU STOP THIS NOW!"

And to add insult to injury IT LOOKS FUCKING CRAP!, look the wii aint powerfull thats a given, but it can still do good stuff ya know ...ITS NOT A DS FOR THE HOUSE!, and why does everyone use the same art style for EVERYGAME! please god we beg of you take mercy on us before i put a jihad on these devs
