Xbox 360 PS3

Capcom announced the release in early 2008 of a playable demo of Devil May Cry 4 on both Xbox Live and PSN, and also released a bunch of new screenshots showing the Lucifer Weapon in action, and a boss fight.

It's a tribute to DMC fans. The series has always been about over-the-topness and style and that rose in Dante's mouth is greatly representative of that. Plus, we all know Dante is a lady's man so why not? In my opinion, it totally fits his image.

There's no official word but considering this game is using the Dead Rising/Lost Planet engine, I would guess its from the 360 version.
Still, I would guess they should be pretty close as Lost Planet is being ported to PS3 so one would assume they have had time to optimize the engine for PS3 use.

According to latest 1up show the game has tearing issues on the 360 version and they made it sound like the PS3 version was just better overall. So its sounding like 360 owners are possibly going to get screwed this time around, unfortunately. Which really doesn't make any sense to me considering that they are using that engine like you said.

BlimBlim have you guys been able to play this game on 360 to confirm what 1up is saying.

It's 1UP. I ain't trusting them for anything related to the XBOX 360.

Actually, it would be smarter to assume that it is from the PS3 build considering it is the lead platform. They always release screens from the lead platform.

Hard to say if the system is the lead platform, it would be better. Just look at what happened in Assasin's Creed.

Regardless, I never bothered with 1UP when it comes to 360 news. Sometimes they feel like they just want the system to fail or something

Not really. Lead platform gets the most resources and development time. And the true lead platform for Assassin's Creed, even though they said they were developing separately, was the 360. I don't buy for a minute the idea that Ubi developed the games separately. The PS3 version suffered from all the problems that a 360 to PS3 port generally suffers.

Interestingly, Games Radar thinks otherwise. They say the following about the two versions:

"Fighting Echidna was also the extent of our brief hands-on with the 360 version, which looked and played identically to the PS3 edition."

And was really happy to learn this:

"It was still a lot of fun, though, at least up until the point where we were told our masterful victory was only possible because the game's difficulty had been set to Easy."

haha

That's hilarious, they've given 3 360 games a 10 in the past couple of months. Totally want the system to fail they do, yeah.

Conflicting views it seems going on the previous posters replies.
Personally I'd think the 360 version would be identical or even better due to Capcom using a 360 game engine and even having more hands-on time developing for 360 unlike PS3 which they have a lack of experience developing for.
I guess all we can do is wait for the demo's for each version to appear next year.
I've got a 360 and PS3 so whatever versions turns out to be the best will be the one I'll get, although I would prefer it on 360 due to the better controller and achievements.
