PS2 Xbox

Atari has finally released the first images from Driver: Parallel Lines with the HUD visible. I got to play the game around a month ago, and you can read more about it and watch some HUD-complete videos in the preview.

Urgh! this would look ugly on the PSP, it truly does look like a DS game, not impressed at all.

Slight over reaction there buddy, it looks like a free-roaming XBox game. Which it is.

if they wanted to revive the series so much, why not go next-gen?

best driver game yet!?

must be better than DRIV three R, and looks better than GTA 3, 4, and 5.

When did GTA 4 and 5 come out?

He's probably referring to San Andreas, and the one before that.

Looks pretty good. These are actual framebuffer grabs stretched from 640x480 to the correct 16:9 aspect ratio hence the jaggies.

People who think this looks bad are the ones who think downscaled hires screens are actually what the xbox1 is rendering. Which is not a surprise since the 480i output is blurred and flicker-filtered to hell to hide the pixels.

I'd swap a lot of disappointing 360 titles (Kameo, PD0) for this. I've always liked the Driver series, even if it isn't cool and hip to admit it. ;)

When will people realise that games should be about escapsim?

If I wanted to be a gangsta ho killer I could go out get a gun and shoot away. But what if I want to be a pretty little pixie elf thing with lovely fluttery wings, short tight skirts and magical powers to transform into odd creatures. I can't just grow wings now can I?

Damn gaming's really gone to the dogs...

Man, is it just the cool shit to dog on PDZ and Kameo? I'm an unabashed fan of PDZ on live (it's true that the single player isn't ultra hot, but it was a fun experience). And Kameo's really not too bad. My expectations were pretty low 'cause 1. I hate platformers in general and 2. one out of ten people will admit to liking it. But it's actually pretty fun (and funny, and very good looking (love the super detailed environments (and I'll stop with the nested parenthesis (in just a second)))). If you were expecting the second coming of Christ in a little green dvd case, then I guess you'd be let down, but gee whiz.

Kameo looks nice, has distinctive style, is a platformer action game with strong mechanics for that genre. Maybe not everyones cup of tea, but definately a quality game in its genre. Good game for middle aged kids of fans of that style.

Plumb, that is what I was hinting at ;)

BTW, When is the second coming of Christ scheduled for release? I heard it was put back again (something about trying to filter blasphemous language on live). Is it xbox exclusive?

I wasn't expecting the second coming, I was just expecting a game that wasn't as dull as dishwater. Oh and to be able to aim properly in PD0 too. ;)

Atari sucks, and hence, so does the Driver series (and so will TDU for that matter, and for the same reason), so I really only have one question - why is everyone bashing PD0 and Kameo in this thread anyway?
