Veterans Astaroth and Raphael will be joined by an accomplished warrior, Hildegard Von Krone (Hilde), as these new high resolution images from Soul Calibur IV on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 prove it. As a bonus, we offer you a ton of artworks from the game. No launch date has been confirmed for the french territories.

I wish they retained the first look of astaroth from the first game, bald guy with white eyes and the red gem on his chest. That was an awesome character design
game looks good
DOA4 looks too clean and bland IMO

The colors seem fine to me, nowhere near as bland as Gears (which took it way too far).

Based on the shots :
#1. No self shadowing. DOA4 didn't have it, but tons of other games do, including VF5 on PS3.
#2. Aliasing is visible, doesn't look like these are renders.
#3. Polygonal edges, meaning they're not using CG models.
#4. Simple backgrounds.
#5. Reflection maps that are obviously not raytraced (which would give away renders).
#6. Simple lighting. Looks like 'fringe' lighting you see in Super Paper Mario and Jade Empire, not technically stressful to do these days. There's not even dynamic flares of lighting (even VF5 has them).
Not putting down the game, just pointing out the factors which make it obvious the game will actually look this good.
I am not sure what is going on with the blur either.
Also too much emphasis on boobs.
