Very nice trailer.
Still got the plastic coating, but hey it's the moves that count.

If that uses completely in-game assets this is a fantastic looking game. Despite the plastic look.

The plastic look doesn't really bother me as I'll only ever use Kage, in all his Ninja goodness.

The reason you'll start to find games that have this shiny/plastic look (PD0, GOW, UT2007, etc) is the teqnique they are using. I forgot what it is called but becaause of it, it is hard for them to remove the shiny/plastic look.

I like that they finally have found a charismatic character in Elleen compared to the others with a kind of poor apperance.

In Tekken for example you got chars like Jin,Kazuya ect with apperance that really hits you in the cool spot but the Virtua series has always lacked in that department imo. So its really good to see Elleen i hope they keep that up :)

Thats some bullshit how they mixed in CGI with real-time, buy blend it so close together it fools people. (Like when they zoom into the characters face)

Actually looking at previous, in-game pictures I think those models are really that detailed. Even if parts are CGI it doesn't mean the game doesn't look that good, it does.

I can't say i'm impressed. The models and backgrounds look too phony to me. I'll give it another chance when i see it running in realtime on a nice display when it is released.

I think maybe i'm simply getting tired of what is available. Honestly, i'm tired of them all. I'm tired of Tekken, tired of DOA, tired of VF. I am starving for something new. Developers may feel like there is no room to compete with these big names, but on the contrary, i think people would like to see something new. Tao Feng was refreshing when it came to the Xbox. We need more variety. I'm also getting tired of the same look, feel and sounds. Nothing against japanese devs, but i'm ready to see a different visual style as apposed to the very japanese look of these games. I'm also tired of hearing female voices that sound like they are 5 years old. I really liked the visual style of Tao Feng. The character models were very realistic and beautiful, and the style was more neutral. The women looked and sounded tough yet still attractive to look at. I wish they would bring it to the new generation.

The question on my mind, are these images and video of the arcade version, or is SEGA finally showing off the PS3 version

I'm with you on this. I've really tired of the endless sequels to games that I have mastered ages ago . . . especially the fighters. Whatever happened to franchises like Weapon Lord or Last Bronx or even Eternal Champions (for those who are not in the know, the SegaCD version of EC, was one of the best fighters ever, despite the fact that the earlier Genesis version leaving a bad taste in players' mouths)?

The one fighter that I would love to see an update on more than any other is Last Bronx. This game kicked major ass, but because it debutted within weeks of VF3 (arcade as the flagship Model 3 killer ap), it was completely forgotten by damned near everyone. A real shame too, as I felt that with some more attention, LB could eventually turn into a fighting series to rival anything else for top dog fighting franchise.

Anyway, every now and then, I still pull out my Saturn to get in some quality time with this quality fighter, and dream of what could have been . . . what simply should be.
