PC Xbox 360 PS3

Bethesda sent three new images of its ambitious Fallout 3 for the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms. Before, they could only be seen in paper magazines or from a handful of lucky websites. Man, Autumn can't get here soon enough!

Really looking forward to this, I hope this does to the whining Fallout fanboys what the new Battlestar Galactica did to those whining fanboys!

i want to like this game, i really do, but the combat is putting me off. if we have choice between the stat heavy method of combat and just straight up shooting im all for it.

also, anyone else thing the guy in the first pic with his dog is pretty much just mad max in a different suit...lol

i dunno, i just get mad max vibes from it.

You can even get that exact leather suit in Fallout 2 (and maybe the first)

The series doesn't take itself seriously at all and contains references and homages all the way through. Bethesda certainly won't be changing that element.

Visuals are okay, not spectacular but not bad either, though there is still time for them to improve the texture work. However, I will buy this game regardless of visuals.

The more I hear about this title the more I want it. I used to be on the other side of that line with all the people crying about how this was a lost legacy. But hey, Black Isle is dead, Obsidian is busy, and this sounds f'n fantastic. Go Bethesda!

This is game of the year, in my book. Particularly if they manage to achieve the style and feel set forth by the teaser trailer they released.

IMO GTA IV will be the GOTY from about everyone.

I'm fairly hyped for this. I'm not expecting it to be as great as Fallout 1 & 2 but it doesn't have to be to be a good game. I still think the characters look a bit so-so while the environments look great. All in all i have pretty high hopes for this :)

I've never been a big fan of the GTA series. I mean, I like their games, and I'm looking forward to giving GTA IV a try, but my anticipation level for it is no where near what it is for Fallout 3. The new Fallout, as well as Far Cry 2, are probably my two most anticipated games this year. As far as open-world games go, the realistic, dramatic, and cinematic tone of those two far outstrips the more cartoonish, lighthearted one of GTA.

The eerie feeling of walking across random and mysterious abandoned, ramshackle houses and buildings and all of a sudden picking up a ghostly distress voice message on your radio, beckoning you to investigate... that is what I call a fun and thrilling experience.

Fallout 1 had one dog too that only followed you if you had leather jacket: http://images.wikia.com/fallout/images//4/44/Jacke...

Cool easter eggs and stuff. I hope Fallout 3 has lots of those too!

GTA IV won't be cartoonish, sorry. They made all the adjustments to make it feel more realistic. Sure, humor will still be there, but that's their trademark and what makes GTA better than its clones. Far Cry 2 isn't even on my radar yet, I mean, we don't know that much of the game yet, do we?

It may not be cartoonish, but it certainly won't be anything terribly dramatic in the cinematic sense.

I know enough about the Far Cry 2, and its developers, and have been tracking the game's development and previews closely enough to be cautiously optimistic that it will be great. As soon as the first trailer hits (finally) I have a feeling it's gonna generate a lot of hype and excitement.

Well, GTAIV is hardly striving for a photo realistic look either. It's somewhere in between if you ask me. And as for Farcry 2, why be hyped about that? Crysis was a complete pile of shit except for the amazing graphics and last time i checked, so were all the goddamn versions of FarCry :)

Kudgel I hope you are happy now. You ruined the Fallout thread :(

Does anyone remember that awesome robot from Fallout 2? I think it was skynet... anyway I laughed way too much when i was trying to get the brains and my character didn't know anything about sciences... He burnt most of the brains and I think the robot didn't do really anything after my installation. LMAO I still laugh at that scene.

Hmm that does remind me about that does this game have joinable NPC character? They sure where fun! You just had to remember not to give grenades or stuff like that to them...

Although I can sort of relate to the fanboys of the series wanting the good ol' Fallout (whatever that may be), I'm kind of getting fed up of all the "whining" as well. Same with Deux Ex. I for one loved the second part, and can't wait for this game either! Looks awesome!

Splicer: Chances are that you'll enjoy it more than the old fans as you don't expect anything. Also shame on you for not playing Fallout 1 & 2. Get your ass over to the closest gaming store and pick them up ASAP :)

The environments are where the visuals are lacking.. look at those textures. They definitely upgraded the characters since Oblivion.

Your opinion doesn't speak for everyone tyvm. Even this watered down version of the originals will have tons of more character than the sequels of GTA imo.
