Hudson released these 28 images of Far East of Eden: Ziria. Even though the graphics doesn't seem to impress anyone, we all know that a game like this had to be done for the japanese market.

Ziria is a complete remake of the Tengai Makyo 1 which originally debuted on the PC Engine CD-ROM in 1989. At the time, the series was considered one of the top four RPG series in Japan (right along with Final Fantasy, Phantasy Star and Dragon Quest).
The graphic style for Ziria does have me a bit perplexed. While it is looking better than it was the last time I saw photos of it a few months back, it is still something that could have been done on Xbox, Gamecube or PS2. I highly suspect that either the game has a retro feel to the look on purpose, or it could be possible that it is being ported over from the PS2. The reason I say that, is that Tengai Makyo 3 was recently remade for the PS2 (in Japan) and it is very likely that Ziria started out as a PS2 port, but then wound up on the 360 (Hiroi Ouji of Red Entertainment has had many interviews about how much he loves the 360 and may have even split with SEGA over that issue as SEGA seems to prefer Sony hardware over all others).
In any case, despite the fact that I feel a game like this (with dated graphics) would have a limited audience in the West, I do hope it makes its way here. The FEoE series has always been one of the best J-RPG series out there, with great story and great gameplay. Hiroi Ouji has stated that storytelling will be getting a major makeover and that the gameplay and battle engines will be getting complete updates to a more modern style. So even though the game looks dated, it should still appeal to fans of RPGs and may even sell well here if it made it across. On which note . . .
Victor Ireland (love him or hate him) made a statement recently concerning working with other X360 publishers in an attempt to port over (an as yet unnamed) J-RPG. Considering that pretty much ever other officially announced, major J-RPG on the 360 seems to be already spoken for, that would leave Ziria (I sure as hell hope that it's not [eM]; that game looks so boring - sorry [eM] fans). Despite the dated-looking graphics, I expect the game to play top notch and I already know matter of factly that the story is one of the best ever. So if it finally (after almost 20 years) makes it's way to the West, three cheers for the publisher that brings it.
It does look fun though, I hope we see it here.
the story is top of the line and game play should be good, o man let me have this..
Saying it could be done on PS2 is a bit harsh the quality is there it just happens to be anime, the textures look pretty good and being in 720p gives it a smooth cartoon quailty.
I hope this and Enchant Arm make it out of Japan. :)
This games looks better then it could on Xbox or PS2, cos they can put more polys in the models so they look nice and rounded, as mentioned above you get a better draw distance etc.
Games like this are great cos they give some verity to the way games look and play.
So get off the graphics bandwaggon and start enjoying games for the full experience.

Does that make Ziria a bad game? Hell no. It just makes it look decidedly dated. And being a huge fan of the series, if Ziria turns out to be produced in English like the past games i the Tengai Makyo series, then I'll not even wait around an extra year for a Western publisher to finally decide they want to publish the game over here, I'll import it my damned self the moment I can get confirmation of the language it's produced in.
