If gamers had seen these images back in 2005 before the release of the "next gen" consoles, most would have been in disbelief and labeled them as bullshots just as people shunned the Killzone2 footage. These images are very impressive, it's hard to believe that the game runs at 60fps.

not that hard to believe really. it's essentially 2 very nice looking character models in a small ring surrounded by a crowd of very low poly characters. the reason people shunned the killzone 2 footage was becasue there was a screen FULL of character modes as detailed as these TWO, if not more so...and all with unrealistically good animations.

this game looks stunning, but it's not really surprising considering how very little is going on. i'm honestly more impressed by something like burnout paradise or cod4 running at 60FPS, becasue while the poly counts arnt as good, the game has a lot more stuff going on on-screen.

killzone 2 characters arnt as detailed as detaield as what you are making out,yes it looks good but the people in it rnt amazing.

asfar as this goes, they lookreally really good, even the background looks good and the fansoutside the ring look good.

it just looksabit like plastic though, but stilllooking forward to it,even though UFC 2009 which implaying at moment is amazing and fightershave weight u can feel, hope this is same or better

And yet the consoles struggle with games like Halo Wars that both looks mediocre and has a mediocre ammount of stuff going on at once lol.
Lets just agree on that all games have their unique framerate-to-quality threshold. Some are better built than others.

I believe he was refering to the First Killzone 2 video that was pre-rendered but the big S said it was real-time...

You know what, for some reason I'm not getting the next-gen feeling with this game. I know that they've improved the player models and physics, and even got the framerate up to 60fps but something seems a bit off.

FNR3 went aggressive using a lot of post processing effects with lighting effects, hdr and motion/object-blur going on here and there. It's what made it look like an amazing leap over the previous generation. FNR4 doesn't seem to have any of those (take the light/lens flare effect for the arenas for instance. Now they're just blue circles that look pretty cheap T_T). Because of the 60fps and the colorful lighting, it actually reminded me of when I was playing FNR2 on the original xbox.

I'm basing this off the demo.

I actually find the boxers looking a bit cartoony.

Somehow EA-sports never nails the faces.

I don't know what demo you were playing, but FNR3 just doesn't compare in any department.

The people in KZ2 look pretty crummy, the models are not as good as you would think, and the texturing is pretty poor. Its all about aesthetics in that game.

Demo's pretty good, gameplay's quite a bit better. Player models look better but something does seem a little off, I think it's the imbalance between the character models and the environment.

Is it my imagination or do the faces look a bit better in these shots? Still a little too "cartoony" but not quite as exaggerated looking. I think one problem is that the textures (skin textures at least) are nowhere near as good as FN3.
