looks like some sort of alienware PC...lol, looks nice as helol in the flat black and carbon fibre tho.

really liking the audi, especially in sunburst orange, which i never thought would work tbh. the track shots look less "bullshotty" then the past few screens they've released. still doctored/photomode shots, but they look a lot more genuine imo.

That really gets on my nerves, its LIGHTING, NOT "lightning", i don't see any thunderstorm in those screens.

On Topic: I like the ability to render carbon fibre body's, it gives the car a whole different look to it than the normal super slick highly reflective cars.
Seems like the car has real texture to it, very nicely done.

That really gets on my nerves...... people who try to correct others but then mess up themselves. it's bodies, not body's.

i'm gonna go all out on this game, G27 wheel and all, they're a bit too expensive at the moment, so polyphany can take their time. :)

Heh, fair enough, I admit my mistake.
Point still stands though, almost every time something is posted (definately GT5 or FM3) there are several people repeating the word "lightning." Plus it seems to be becoming more widespread. It's a small thing, but if you're gonna describe the ability to light the scene as lightning you might aswell be completely rediculous and say the sausaging of the scene is impressive.

The lightning in those screens its pretty good.

You know when some screens looks nice its sometimes because of the lightning and other stuff too but specially the lightning.

In this game I see they put a lot of love in the lightning department.

Lightning.

I can't wait till they show some screens with weather effects (if they are still planning to include such a feature). "Both the lightning and the lightning are impressive"

Fair enough I guess...

But tbh have mercy with us non-native speaker because I guess thats a mistake commonly made by those. A false friend so to speak.

Anyway great attention to detail on the cars, as always.
I just hope the driving improves as well.

I think these are all photo mode and high poly models just like with forza. When you get in game they tend to turn all of the lighting effects down and reduce the car models. Its fair enough there is a lot more going on when driving than in replays and the replays do look amazing. But you do notice this switch which is a little distracting.

Either way will pick this up, when its finally released I will have probably done everything on forza twice over so will want something new lol.

actually gran turismo doesnt do that, the cars you see in replays are those you see in game. at least based on prologue. if anything these screens have added anti aliasing (although it's still visibile in some of these shots so who knows) and motion blur. just search for any prologue replay/gameplay comparisson images and you'll see they dont change anything at all. they only difference is the obvious ones (non-gameplay camera angles)

go play prologue now and go to the interior view, then watch the replay and switch to the same view, they look identical. same shadows, same lighting, same aliasing. they're the same. THESE shots however have clearly been altered since they have a shit ton of REALLY GOOD motion blur.

I haven't got prologue I never bought it, it seemed like a waste of money considering the amount of content. It's cool though if that is what gt5 will be like. But yeah I still question these shots there just a little too good. And it's not as if sony and PD have never lied about visual quality though. Having said that after playing uncharted 2 and seeing the tech demo for the new cry engine there is still some power to be had from these ageing consoles.

Replays in GT5P add at least motion blur and heat haze. And if you ask me something else is going on as well because I doubt that PD needs to cut the frame rate in half just for these two additional effects.

Anyway I have little doubt that the cars will look like this in the final game. I mean I got GT5P and the cars there look already like this.
The only thing that worries me in the visual compartment is the sterile look of the tracks in GT5P. The FM3 Suzuka looks so much better/livelier than the GT5P one if you ask me.
I don’t really care if they bend reality a little bit by adding some details like a tree here and there if all in all it makes the track look better (like NSF Shift does for example).
But I guess some people like this “showroom” style and would jump out of the window if there is an additional tree or some tire marks on Suzuka…
If you don’t know what the fuck I’m talking about: http://www.gameswire.net/comparisons/comparison_20...
And just for the record I own GT5P and FM3 and don’t go by these screenshots alone. I don’t care which version fits reality better, I like the FM3 version better because of its additional details and more used look.
I just hope PD improves the look of the tracks as well.

(fuck I may have started a redundant discussion…)
