Very impressive car and more impressive game it is. And youtube is full of videos and replays you can watch it there. Anyway these images - it is a feast for my eyes.

yeah, point being..after 5+yrs of developement.. 2 "demo's", i'm beyond ready to see gameplay footage that's not taken from a camera pointed at a screen. It's time they released some official stuff...instead of the only official things coming out of them being replays (which always over flatter visuals n racing games - regardless of how amazing the actual gameplay stuff looks), and PR shots.

As always totally awesome. This makes other racing games look bad lol. Here is the GT5 trailer which is supposed to come with GOW3 game. You can see glimpse of night racing too.

PS: GT5 will be released in 2010. One of the Sony boss also briefly mentioned that in GDC lol

These PR shots don't even look as good as PGR4. I want to see some gameplay!

May is grossly optimistic. Perhaps Q4 in Japan, at the very best. I think they will have a release date for E3 or TGS, or rather they will be forced to have a release date by then and they will put down Q4 2010 to not piss people off. But I don't think it will be a simultaneous release and the NA and EU versions will slip into 2011.

i dont think theres a chance in hell sony will let it slip to 2011. Unless they have something up their sleeves that we dont yet know about, they need a system seller for christmas - this is it.

It was always going to hit japan earlier..if its out in japan before the end of summer then theres a good chance we'll have it before christmas

Well at it's current rate, it's definitely post-2010. If Sony wants it out earlier, then PD have to wrap things up _now_ and everything that isn't finished won't be in there when the game is out. It's March now and May would be two months from now. They still haven't shown day/night cycle, weather conditions or real-time damage. We don't have a car- or tracklist. Release dates are still TBA for all regions. We get this kind of information a looong time before the game is out.

I'm pessimistic, but I expect a release at least 4-5 months after the release date is even announced, and a longer wait for everyone outside Japan. I've been playing GT too long to expect anything else.

heh looking at these screens took me back...way back to the summer of 1998 when my mom got me a PSX. I remember playing the Gran Turismo demo (which featured a night track and a rally saburu). Sister and I were so impressed with it hehehe and now 11 years later this is shown :D

PGR4 graphics have been surpassed long time back I think by all these 720P 30fps racing games. Right now l Dirt2 and NFS shift are among best looking racing games I think. Believe it or not that how game looks in real. This is how GT5P looks and GT5 is going to better than this:

The time trail demo was poor imo. Graphics wise it was just ok and control wise it just didn't feel right. My hype for GT5 was quite high, but delay after delay and then the poor demo has killed my anticipation for this. I will probably buy it at some point but its no longer on my need to have list.

And I agree with most people they need to release gameplay footage and not replay shots. They have been releasing these for years.

i'm pretty sure PGR4 was 720p 30fps. And though i agree that the car models have certainly been surpassed, the tracks in PGR4 still hold their own, and the dynamic weather still impressess.

LOL, Dirt I understand, but Shift? Are you serious?

The best looking racing games out there are Dirt 2, Forza 3, PGR4, and I still find that Formula 1 game on the PS3 to be really impressive (rain and lighting specially).

Yeah, car models have been surpassed, but PGR4 still has the best looking city tracks by far, awesome motion blur, and a race that looks like a race with hundreds of people in the crowd, flags waving, flashes, etc.

It helps that replays are really well done. The game has dynamic weather, and an awesome lighting engine. The fact that it still holds its own is remarkable imo.

Yeah, Bizarre really know how to do city tracks in a spectacular fashion, which is why I was SOOO let down when they left MS. Their new game looks like someone put a fucking gun to their head... even though I heard the beta is really surprisingly fun.

As for replays, I've never been one to give a crap about those. Do most racing fans honestly watch replays often? Seems almost vain...lol
