Xbox 360 PS3

Rockstar releases four new screenshots of Midnight Club L.A., which is supposed to be the second game using the GTA 4 engine. The images are a bit cryptic, but it looks quite good.

GTA4 engine? Mmmm, wouldnt that engine sacrifice car detail because it is balanced to allow the player to walk around, to have pedestrians... etc in the game GTA4?

In the same fashion, Burnout 3 and GTA 3, VC and SA all use the same engine, and look at the HUGE graphical differences there.

why do those screens remind me of TDU? (a REALLY bad thing)

i hope this turns out awesome, and that the realism is upped slightly. i know its an arcade game but with real cars and stuff I think more realistic physics and engine sound should be put in place as they have already done interiors etc

TDU= Test Drive Unlimited

The game looks ok, but they have to fill all of that space with a variety of things to do to keep people interested. Unfortunately, when you open everything from the beginning, you also allow people to play the whole game from the beginning.

It could get boring really fast.

Lots of people play the Midnight Club series, it's like a open world San Fran Rush (lots of focus on shortcuts, up on buildings and crazy things like that).

But I would still prefer GTA4 screens, GTA4 is my most anticipated game for a while now. I'm certain they will come in time though.

What are you on about? Burnout 3 was made by Criterion, GTA3, VC, and SA were made by Rockstar - both using their OWN bespoke engines.

not sure about the uses of such engines in those games but doesnt the burnout games use renderware, as does black (both by criterion), and real time worlds also used renderware for crackdown.

and wasnt this rockstar engine also used in table tennis

should check out : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RenderWare

I would rather have a new racing game set in a huge living city, GTA style. Than yet ANOTHER PGR clone.
