Bungie releases about sixty (!) screenshots of Halo 3's multiplayer mode, as well as a dozen of artworks. You'll find ingame screenshots, menu captures, a new map and alot more.
What's with some of them being silky smooth and crisp looking while others are so jaggy that their jaggies have jaggies?
I mean, pic 39 looks like garbage compared to some others. Do they just have a lot of post-processing thrown on some of them, or are some captures simply of less quality?
Not that I'm complaining but we need more single player campaign images than multiplayer.
I still dig all of these screens though :)
note: Ok, I finally admit it. The bump mapping on the Chief's armor is gone has been replaced with a dull, flat and washed out texture.
It took those renders for me to see it clearly. Bungie can't deny that a little of the Chief's coolness factor was effected by the texture change from the E3 06 armor.
Oh well, spilt milk at this point. I'm ready to play this game, not gonna grind over graphics anymore.

I think that those jaggies you are talking about have to do with how they captured it and how they distributed the image because when I played the beta it didnt have jaggies like that.
There is definetly something wrong with the images because the textures and everything seems to be clumped together in an un-normal way.
If ever rendering at an uber-res + downscaling made a game look far better than it actually looks its right here. I hope those native shots are from a beta cause they lack texture resolution and generally just look messy.
The downscales however aside from the uber-supersampling have super high texture resolutions far into the distance. Sure, Halo2 had bullshots like that too but here we were sort of hoping this time they dont have to be too much off the mark (only minus supersampling / AA).
Though I'm happy to see things greatly improved from the public beta, some native shots look excellent no doubt. Perhaps they are from various betas then.
Im a bit concerned about the new armor escpecially the helmet, im talking about the one that looks like the helmet is covered with the same material as the traditional armors visor. Why im concerned is becasue wont it be very easy to pulloff headshots on a person who is wearing this kind of armor since it looks like a big yellow target, or can you alter the upper parts colour?

nice shaders! But the graphics engine in this game turned out pretty disappointing, I still want to see some large single player battles though
Well we haven't seen anything. According to all who have actually seen the single player campaign in action, Halo 3's environments are exploding with activity. UNSC and Convenant craft flying around or dropping out of the sky. Plasma mortars flying everywhere and explosions going off in every direction.
One game site described a scene where the "sky seemed on fire". The wait won't be much longer. We're going to get our chance to see and play for ourselves soon enough.

Old Master Chief Was the best, I hate when they take a good thing, and mess it all up, Just leave Chief alone. Just make him HD and call it a day.
if u mean from the first one then yeah i agree, never did like his new outfit. the first one was a lot better since the suit was acutally bigger and made him look more badass.

Edit: It does seem like th bump-mapping is gone!
i mean, which version of chief looks better. and be honest!
the old
or the new
seems bungie initially bit off more then they could chew, cos the new version looks pretty bad imo
They probably had to tone it down even more to achieve the 4 player co-op over live if it's story mode.
