PS3

Namco announced that the still rather mysterious, but without a doubt utterly crazy Noby Noby Boy will be released on the PSN in the beginning of 2009. And since we aren't going to get a new video, at least we'll have these 8 screenshots to try to understand what the hell is going on...

Meh. I think Crysis beats this in the graphics department.

Somebody should tell'em that games need skyboxes. Empty placeholders do nothin' for me.

If it releases at the right price (around $10), I'll give it a go.

Never minded trying out crazy looking games and PSN sure has a few of them lol.

if you can actually wrap round stuff like that its pretty impressive tech in terms of collision and physics. but im yet to see the point of this "game". its definately unique tho, and im all for originality.

I look forward to this - I hope it's better than the iPhone variant of Katamari that I bought tonight - very sluggish on my phone...!

If this game is all about making crazy knots out of nobi nobi boy's body, I'm going to love this, looks really original and crazy. Hope it has Katamari-level music.

Not really, the levels are so sparse and have such little geometry that having high collison detection is not an issue, they have to use the processor for something right ?

Looks like it could be quite fun though.

If the Atari would have had 3D graphics back then, this is what one of the games would have looked like haha. Looks interesting and confusing at the same time... kinda like the old ET game.

so just becasue the art style is simple it makes the tech involved less impressive? no, not really.

Fuck ass, its solid colors... pretty sparse stuff... Simple geometry... OBVIOUSLY its not going to take much power for that, so it has to go to something else.

no duh, so what if its where all the power is going. doesnt make the collision and physics any less impressive. take the euphoria engine tech demo's for example, those where block characters in a sparse environment.,,,does it suddenly make the euphoria engine any less impressive? no. point proven. go back to your hole

Thats not what I meant, obviously if they are using less graphical power then they have more to use on other stuff such as Physics and collison detection.

Not to mention that if you have less geometry there is less to calculate so collision detection becomes much easier.

You missed both my point and the one by pythxvii ... nice work :)

no, i understand, you're just wrong. you're claiming that just becasue there is less to calculate thanks to the simplicity of a single scene that the tech is less impressive? which isnt the case. there is WAY less to calculate in the euphoria tech demo's (no textures, simplistic geometry etc) but the tech is incredibly impressive. same applies here.
