Xbox 360 PS3

Atari tries to awake the rioter that sleeps inside everyone of us with this galery of Alone In The Dark, which is supposed to teach us the right method to put your own car on fire in five steps. Who knows when it could come in handy !

A ton via the videos released every month or so that show off aspects of the physics and such.

Looks pretty good imo but it will be hard to keep the game fresh and exciting throughout I think.

i think they are seriously overusing bump/specular mapping here. I mean....just look at the line of fuel in pic 3, it looks like a miniature river trailing from the car or thick gel or something, it sure as hell doesn't look like splashed liquid at any rate.

Ah well, after the videos i've seen this game holds some promise anyways. I might pick it up. Then again, maybe not. I'm undecided.

yeah they definately are, it's distracting in many of the shots they've shown, videos too... but the gameplay elements seem to make up for it

Because everybody knows, inspecting whether a fuel trail has proper specular lighting or not, is what this game is all about...
Realistic graphics are always a good thing but damn, that's a very minor detail to complain about. I'm pretty sure the artists left it intentionally like that because nobody's going to notice such a subtle effect when the game is in motion.

I'm just saying, in general i think they've overused the effects a bit. The fuel was just an example. I'm not saying it's a bad game or anything.

Also, "left it like that"? You think the engine magically applied weird looking bump/specular maps? ;)

That will probably hit the sales of this pretty hard. They should probably postpone release further.

Can someone show me a car that has the fuel held in the rear quarter panel?

Other than that, this game looks to be quite good.
