The visual direction of this is just baffling. It's neither here nor there in terms of attempting to look like modern or classic comics, instead opting for "early 90's kid's CGI cartoon show".

i'm more interested to see whats happening with champions. Its a shame it nolonger has the marvel skin, but its got a good proven team behind it that did city of heroes.

Its also a shame that mmo's will never be successful on the 360 due to the already additional charge gold members are locked in, and the fact that the constant upgrades an mmo needs to survive will have to be limited in size, and restricted to MS's approval (and no doubt charge to the developers) before finally reaching us.

If the ps3 can nail the mmo genre then sony will literally be laughing to the bank.

I'm wondering what's going to be the better super hero MMO, this or Champions Online? Cryptic has the experience in super hero MMOs, but Sony clearly has more years of experience with MMOs in general. I'm looking forward to both though, and I like how they both have very different visual styles.

SOE have backed so many turds though. Everquest is their only real success story of any note.

Jim Lee is the artistic director, hence the Jim Lee look. Anyways, I'll wait on reviews to see if it is any good, but if they announce that there will some sort of Crisis campaign, I'll definitely get it.

it looks pretty nice visually...for an MMO at least, i mean, no mmo is going to win any awards for visuals. but paying to play a game every month has never really appealed to me. so, unless its free to play, then i doubt i'll even touch it, same goes for champions.

I'm must say it doesn't look too bad considering its an MMO.

the team that did city of heroes either left or is still working on city of heroes. it's like 3 guys from that "proven" team and judging from the beta going on now, the only thing they've proven is how out of touch with what makes a fun/playable game they are.
